Kerry Washington to play Anita Hill in TV biopic

Scandal star Kerry Washington has been cast as lawyer Anita Hill in an upcoming TV biopic.

The actress bears a striking resemblance to Hill, who made headlines in 1991 for accusing Supreme Court nominee Clarence Thomas of sexual harassment while he served as her supervisor at the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.

The film, titled Confirmation, will focus on the subsequent hearings that shone a light on sexual harassment, victims' rights and modern-day race relations.

Erin Brockovich screenwriter Susannah Grant will pen the script for the project and executive produce the drama, alongside Washington.
