Kate del Castillo files suit against Mexican D.A.

Kate Del Castillo, the Latina actress who helped Sean Penn secure his jungle meeting with fugitive drug lord El Chapo, has filed suit to get Mexico's Attorney General off her back.

The star is asking a judge to silence Arely Gomez Gonzalez, claiming he is leaking information about her to gain political standing following the embarrassment of not being able to track down an escaped convict, who arranged a Rolling Stine interview with actor Penn in October (15).

Kate is currently being investigated for money laundering, but sources tell TMZ.com the allegations stem from her links to El Chapo, who was recaptured by authorities after six months on the run a day before Rolling Stone published Penn's rambling article about his meeting with the crime boss.
