Kanye West is preparing for impending fatherhood by reportedly selling off his New York City bachelor pad.

The rapper's socialite girlfriend, Kim Kardashian, is due to give birth to the couple's first child in the coming weeks, and now it has emerged West is getting ready for the baby's birth by offloading his Manhattan apartment.

The property in the borough's SoHo district is being sold privately for an asking price of $4.5 million, according to the New York Post.

The couple is rumoured to be house-hunting together in Beverly Hills, California.
