Jennifer Lopez investigation stalls in Morocco
An investigation into Jennifer Lopez's controversial performance in Morocco has stalled after a broadcasting watchdog ruled the concert falls outside its remit.
The singer/actress caused controversy when her raunchy show in the conservative country in May (15) aired on national TV, and Prime Minister Abdelilah Benkirane ordered the High Authority of Audiovisual Communication (HACA) to investigate the matter and "take legal measures against those responsible" for the broadcast.
However, the HACA probe has been halted after officials at the
watchdog decided they cannot take it any further, calling the prime
minister's request for an inquiry "inadmissable in form because it
does not fall within the scope (of our remit to) address issues
related to the audiovisual sector as a whole and not on specific
cases".
