Eva Longoria's fiance didn't know she was famous
Eva Longoria's new fiance Jose Baston had no idea she was a famous actress when they first met.
The former Desperate Housewives beauty was initially introduced to the Mexican TV boss in 2013, and Eva confesses she had to explain that she was more than just another Hollywood wannabe.
"Somebody introduced us and he was like, 'Uhhh...', which is great
by the way, which I loved," she tells talk show host Ellen
DeGeneres. "He's never known me as working. He's like, 'Oh, so
you're an actress?'"
"And I'm like, 'Yeah, I'm a pretty big deal in China. People see my
show all over the world'," she jokes. "But no he's great, but he
still hasn't seen it (Desperate Housewives)."
Eva admits Jose is still surprised whenever she is approached in
public by fans and recognized as the star who portrayed cheating
housewife Gabrielle Solis.
"People come up to me all the time and he just doesn't really get
it," she continues. "He's like, 'They really like you.' Then he
goes like, 'I'm gonna watch (Desperate Housewives), I'm gonna
watch, everybody talks about it (so) I'm gonna watch.'
"And he tries to watch and of course I'm like, banging the gardener
in the first season, and he's like, 'I don't want to watch!', and I
was like, 'Yeah, yeah, let's jump to season five. That's when I was
like not sleeping with anybody (on the show)!'"
Desperate Housewives aired for eight seasons, from 2004 to
2012.
Eva became engaged to Televisa executive Jose in December (15)
after he proposed during a romantic vacation in Dubai.
The marriage will be the actress' third. She was previously married
to actor Tyler Christopher from 2002 to 2004 and French basketball
star Tony Parker from 2007 to 2011.
