Daniel Radcliffe unveils Walk of Fame star
Actor Daniel Radcliffe is awestruck after joining the ranks of cinema legends by receiving a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
The Harry Potter actor was on hand to unveil the 2,565th star at the famous attraction in a ceremony outside the TLC Chinese Theatre in Los Angeles on Thursday (12Nov15).
The event was attended by hordes of Harry Potter fans as well as
director Chris Columbus, who helmed the franchise's first two
movies, and Daniel told of his delight at being included alongside
all the Hollywood greats.
He said, "Thank you for this star. It is incredibly surreal and
still slightly overwhelming and hasn't really sunk in yet. A few
months ago I was walking along here with a couple of friends and
was slightly in awe and slightly overwhelmed by the names I was
going to be joining... Growing up in England, when you hear the
word Hollywood, right after you picture the sign on the hill, you
picture these stars. It feels a very long way from when you grow up
in Fulham (in west London) to this.
"It means an incredible amount to me that Chris Columbus is here
today to come to this, a huge amount of the excitement and
enthusiasm I have for this industry was instilled in me by Chris on
those first two Potter films that we were shooting... at this time
of year 15 or 16 years ago."
