Blake Lively throws 40th birthday party for husband Ryan Reynolds

Blake Lively threw husband Ryan Reynolds a 40th birthday party at the restaurant chain where they first fell in love.

The 29-year-old actress decorated Japanese restaurant O Ya in New York with streamers and balloons marking her spouse's landmark age as the couple were joined by friends and family to celebrate the occasion.

Sharing a snap of her and Ryan cuddling in the eatery, Blake captioned the Instagram image: "We fell in love at your restaurant in Boston. We stay in love at your restaurant in NY. Thank you for the BEST food and memories! You are our FAVORITE!! Another happy birthday with @vancityreynolds . Hey, Reynolds, I like you a whole lot. Just sayin'."

In Blake's picture, Ryan is seen holding a picture from his 35th birthday, around the time he and the actress started dating.

Ryan then shared another picture from the party, showing the pair wearing animal masks and Blake in a party hat.

He captioned the image: "Best. Birthday. Everrrrr. Courtesy of my wife, buddy, and international spy, @blakelively. With huge thanks to my favorite restaurant in NYC, @_o_ya_ -- and a special shout out to our children for not ruining everything like they planned."

Ryan celebrated turning 40 on Sunday (23Oct16).

After Blake and Ryan shared pictures from the event, pal Taylor Swift was quick to comment on the Deadpool star's image, writing: "Thanks guys now I'm drowning in tears of joy."

Model Karlie Kloss, a fellow member of Taylor's squad, then added: "Everything goals."

Blake and Ryan welcomed their second child in September (16). While they have not publicly announced the baby's gender or name, Ryan sparked rumors it was another girl for the pair when he accidentally referred to his "daughter" in a tweet on 21 October (16).

"The mobile above my daughter's crib is just a whole bunch of NuvaRings (birth control method). So she remembers how lucky she is," Ryan tweeted.
