Beyonce tops Forbes list as 2014's highest-paid woman in music
Beyonce has been crowned 2014's highest-paid woman in music after banking $115 million in the past year, according to a new Forbes survey.
The superstar raked in the majority of her earnings from the success of her The Mrs. Carter Show World Tour, in addition to the surprise release of her self-titled album in December (13) and her endorsement deals with beauty giant L'Oreal and drinks firm Pepsi, among others.
The figure, which takes into account pre-tax income for the 12
months from June, 2013, is more than double what she earned last
year (13), when she was ranked at number four, and easily places
her ahead of her closest competitor, Taylor Swift, who amassed $64
million .
Pink rounds out the new top three with $52 million , while Rihanna
and Katy Perry follow just behind with $48 million and $40 million
, respectively.
Meanwhile, music and reality TV mogul Simon Cowell and America's
Got Talent judge, shock jock Howard Stern, have tied for first
place in another new Forbes poll, counting down the top earners in
the entertainment industry. They each earned $95 million in the
past year.
Other notable big earners include Oprah Winfrey at four with $82
million , Ellen DeGeneres at six with $70 million , Ryan Seacrest
at eight with $65 million and celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay at nine
with $47 million .
