Beyonce's baby complaints dismissed by health bosses
New parents Beyonce and Jay-Z are in the clear - health officials have determined security measures at the hospital where little Blue Ivy was born last weekend (07Jan12) did not prevent fellow maternity ward patients from visiting their own newborns.
The Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It) singer gave birth to daughter Blue Ivy at New York's Lenox Hill Hospital on Saturday (07Jan12) but Beyonce's happiness was soured when other new parents alleged the couple's strict safety measures interfered with their visiting schedules in the neonatal unit.
Reports also suggested that other newborns were put at risk when
security cameras were taped over and windows blacked out in a bid
to maintain Jay-Z and Beyonce's privacy.
State Health Department officials launched an investigation into
the claims on Wednesday (11Jan12) after receiving two formal
complaints from members of the public, but both were reviewed and
dismissed within hours, reports spokesman Jeffrey Gordon.
According to the Associated Press, directors at the hospital
additionally launched their own inquiry by interviewing new parents
who had children born in the same wing.
Hospital representative Barbara Osborn says, "None have reported
being stopped from seeing their babies."
