Beyonce risks wrath of animal rights campaigners with bespoke sneakers
Beyonce has risked the wrath of animal rights campaigners by commissioning a pair of shoes made from exotic animal skins.
Earlier this month (Feb13), the Crazy In Love hitmaker came under fire from bosses at People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) for sporting an outfit made from python and iguana during her Super Bowl half-time show.
Now she looks set for more criticism after asking designers at
custom sneaker company Perfectly Made Kicks (PMK) to create her a
pair of exotic shoes.
The sneakers, named King Bey after the star, are made from
crocodile and anaconda skins, stingray, ostrich, and calf hair, and
are in the style of her favourite Isabel Marant shoes.
A statement posted on the PMK website reads, "PMK starts the year
off with another worlds (sic) first, taking the Isabel Marant
sneaker wedge (back) to the cobbling block to create a
one-of-a-kind design for R+B royalty and pop sensation Beyonce
Knowles-Carter. Summoned by King Bee and given the task to create a
custom design worthy of her approval, PMK takes the Isabel Marant
sneaker wedge back to the beginning of time."
