Avicii blames tour cancellations on workload
Dance star Avicii had to cancel the reminder of his tour dates because he did not follow his doctor's advice to rest following his surgery earlier this year (14).
The DJ, real name Tim Bergling, scrapped a series of performances after his gallbladder and appendix were removed in March (14), but he soon went back to his non-stop schedule.
It was not until the star's 25th birthday in September (14) that he
finally realised he was making his health problems worse, so he
scrapped his remaining 2014 concert dates to give himself time to
recover.
The Wake Me Up hitmaker tells Billboard.com, "Since my operation,
I'd just been going and going... I was dropping weight. I needed to
take a break. I took a month off (after the operation), but it
wasn't really a month off... I was in the studio 12 hours a day,
and then went right back to touring. It's hard to say no in this
industry. You want to play everything and be everywhere.
"I'm going to try to slow it down. Taking a break was the absolute
best thing I've done. I'm doing better and better."
