I'm good, how are you?

I'm good, you're back. Cuz you're kind of taking a little break.

Yes, I mean it it appears that way. I was you know I was I've been in the studio for 2 and a half years. So But now I'm now I'm ready to release it. So I'm so excited.

I love that, I love that. And even though it's been years, somehow your songs are still in my head.

I got my record deal when I was when I was 12. I I had been offered deals since I was 8. And and my mom said no. And then we met with this one when I was 12. Recorded the album at 12, released it at 13. And and here I am at 20, I'll be 21 in December. So it's been quite a long time.

What would you say you know now that you wish you knew then?

I wish I knew to respect people that know more than me. I wish I knew to chill the F out. Okay? I wish I knew that it's okay to be young and and you should enjoy your youth because with with being older comes more responsibility. So just it's okay to be young, it's okay to not know everything and listen to the you know people around you.

How would you say your sound's changed? Cuz I read that you say this is pop with anger management. Right. And at any moment you could flip out. Absolutely. Which was quite disturbing to read before this interview.

Well.

Which is why I've bought my guard up. Okay. Just in case.

You'll be fine.

Okay. She's pretty intimidating. She is. She's got a nasty side. Don't don't be fooled by the good looks.

Yes, I like to describe it as pop with an anger management problem. It's aggressive, it's on the edge. But I mean you can't be tough all the time. I'm still a young girl and figuring it all out. So there's there's definitely like vulnerability and femininity. And I just like to have that juxtaposition of the soft, the hard. You can you hear that on the album.

So when you're describing your music, you're describing yourself?

Yes. Because it's one and the same.

Um and Joe Jonas, you're touring with him?

Yes.

The small name that is the Jonas brother. How's that?

It's awesome. I've known the JoBros so when you say that. I've known JoBros. The JoBros. I've known them for years. Um we actually lived in New Jersey around the same time. So we kind of came up together. So I know him and his whole family. And to be touring with him and seeing him going on his solo endeavor and everything is really awesome. I'm so proud of him to see his transition and um it's it's a really fun tour.

How are the fans? Cuz I imagine they're quite mental, full on.

Yes.

As you said, it's been a long time in the making.

Mhm.

Um where does the title from? Cuz that's not your hobby, is it jumping trains?

No, I've never. That'd be dangerous. Listen, I have too much anxiety to really do that. Okay. But I wanted to bring that energy into this album. You know, um I feel like with no risk, there's no reward. So in the actual act of jumping trains, it's super risky, it's dangerous, it's exhilarating but if you make it, it's worth the risk. And um there's a song that I wrote on the album called Jumping Trains which is about leaving a relationship that's kind of holding you back in your life. And moving on into something new. So I just wanted to kind of um you know have that energy of transition and moving forward and things like that. You know, I moved from Massachusetts to LA. You know, made the transition from being a girl to a young woman and finding my place and all that.

I love that. And your single Disaster.

Yes.

Disaster sounds sad. It's not

I mean it's not It's not a sad song, it's quite

It's not a sad song.

I think there's redemption to it, you know, it's after the storm, there's a light at the end of the tunnel. And that's kind of what it's talking about. But it's just about a relationship that slips out of your hands. First it was something that you cherished, it was awesome and you had these great times and that crazy passionate love, that young love. But then it it, you know, swirls out of control.

Young love. We all know about that, don't we?

Yeah, a little bit. Me being in my teens myself.

Right. Very familiar with young love. You still flying the girl power flag. Which is important.
