Shontelle

RJ here, The Young Hollywood Studio at the Four Seasons Hotel and I know we love breaking new artists to you. Here's one that absolutely has to be on your radar. Talking about Chantal. We're gonna find out about what she's been up to. New song Impossible. I know now. Shout it from the roof. on the skyline. we've had it on now. Tell him I was heavy and my heart is broken. All my stars are open. Tell him what I hope would be impossible. give us a little background on that song. What made you pick that as as a lead single to kick off with?

You know, people love a lot of the stuff that I've done for with the new album so far but the reaction to impossible, it's like people it's not they don't just react to it because it's a great song but I guess it really like hits the heart. A lot of people really relate to it and it's just I feel like people connect with the song.

And the funny thing I didn't realize like the song t-shirt. I've heard that a ton but I never knew who sang it.

Yeah, a lot of people say that. A lot of people like, wait a minute. Who's this Chantal that sings impossible? And then you go, it's the t-shirt girl. And then they're like, oh that song dude like that was my ringtone or I I love that song. So people didn't really know that you know, now they're starting to connect the dots now. So yeah, I'm the t-shirt.

The t-shirt girl, I like that. The t-shirt because I know people are probably thinking like wait, I know that song now. It's driving me crazy. You just sing a couple quick lyrics to just remind people. You remember this.

Trying to decide, trying to decide if I really wanna go out tonight. I never used to go out without you. I'm not sure we remember how to. When I put your t-shirt on. You all know that. Yeah, y'all know that song.

Now if you know that song, you got to give them a couple bars just for impossible so they know what they have to look forward to the new one.

Oh yeah, it's it's easy the part that that sticks in everyone's head is the I remember years ago someone told me I should take caution when it comes to love I did. I did and you were strong and I was not. And there you go.

Impossible. Let's talk a little bit about Twitter because you were on your Twitter all the time.

Yeah, I'm a bit of a Twitterholic.

You are.

I need Tweehab.

Tweehab? Yeah. That's a new one. Tweehab. How does that work?

I don't know it's not working for me. It's like even yesterday. I was looking like every two hours. It was like replying to this person replying to that person. That's the thing. Um, I don't really put out that many tweets you know like that frequently but I do spend a lot of time on Twitter replying and I like to get direct feedback, you know from my fans so I know exactly what they want.

So tell us something about about yourself that people might not know.

I'm a Geo. I'm gangster. If you play Mario Kart Wii, don't test. I slay. People don't know but I'm like a video game freak. Like I just love it. I say I like I play DJ hero all the time on my Xbox. Nice. I play Grand Theft Auto. I'm down with uh anything I love anything techy it's like so weird because people think I'm super girly but then I'm like, yo, I'm such a nerd. Like I love anime and stuff like that. So yeah, that's like a thing a thing about me a lot of people don't know.

So I got you. Last thing. Let's just talk about sort of the evolution of your career. Where do you want to see it going and you know I'm I'm just trying to get, you know get to that next point.

Um, you know, it's cool. You come out you have a song on the radio. I'm the t-shirt girl. But now I just I really want to establish my career and build it and you know work with a lot more artists and do a lot more cool collaborations and just like see where it all takes me, you know?

There you go. You heard it here white Fusimeter Chantal. It's a name you need to know. It's a face you need to know and it's certainly a voice you probably already do know. You just didn't realize that it's Chantal. Now you know.
