Paris Hilton on DJing and Maintaining Her Brand Empire

I'm joined by someone that the whole world knows, Paris Hilton. How are you?

I'm good, how are you?

I'm good. I'm surprised you had time in your schedule to to stop on this sofa between world domination and everything else that you do. It's crazy. And now the most recent Cash Money Records, you've signed a multi-album record deal. Yes. Tell us about that.

I love working with them. They're such great guys. They're so supportive of this record, and I'm having so much fun with everybody.

And the single, "Good Time," obviously that makes sense if you're having fun. Yes. That's come out, um, the video.

I always have a good time because I never have a good time. And I never be a bit sad.

That's okay because you're with me. And the album's coming out 2014. Yes. What can we expect from that? Any surprises?

Yeah, the album is full of surprises. Um, I'm working with Snoop Dogg and Flo Rida. Uh, we're doing more songs with Lil Wayne and some other surprise guests.

Just a small few names. Is there anyone that you haven't collaborated with yet that you'd love to?

Um, I haven't really thought about it.

Okay. Well we'll save that for the next album. Because it is a multi-album record deal.

Exactly.

And now the DJing that's blowing up. Everyone's talking about Paris Hilton the DJ. And Ibiza. Ibiza you say Ibiza. How was that?

It was incredible. I was playing for 10,000 people every single night. It was sold out. Just amazing energy in the room. I love being up on that stage and it was so successful. They signed me on for next year as well.

And it was a foam party. Is this correct?

Yes. Paris Hilton's Foam and Diamonds Party.

Foam and Diamonds. Was that your your idea? Okay. Foam and Diamonds. Nice. And it started at 3:30.

Yeah, my set was from 3:30 to 5:30 and then the foam around six.

How do you stay awake every every day? Ibiza everyone sleeps all day, goes out all night. Sleeping all works there. Vampire. And now so many celebrities have have, you know, delved into the fashion world and TV, but you've seemed to make it work for so long. You've not gone anywhere. You're always always around. What would you say separates you? How do you make it work?

Well, I consider myself a brand and a businesswoman. I know I have 17 product lines. I have 50 Paris Hilton stores around the world. And now I'm opening up my own properties. So,

Did you envision all this in the beginning? Is this always what you wanted?

Um, when I was a little girl, I always had big dreams. I always knew that I would do something big and just growing up in the Hilton family, it's always been a lot to live up to.

How is Paris in the boardroom different to the Paris that we see on the red carpet?

Um, when I'm in the boardroom, I am very tough, a tough businesswoman. And the red carpet is more of my glamour time where I just can get dressed up and have fun.

Right. And out of the the fashion, the TV, the music, the DJing, what do you relate to most? You know, the one part.

I love it all. I love DJing because I love music. I don't consider myself a DJ. It's just something I do for fun. I love music. I love just entertaining people and having a good time. Cuz I feel like you only live once and you have to make the most of it. Um, where are you most excited to go if you're going to perform anywhere?

I love going everywhere. I was just actually in Asia doing some shows in Hong Kong and Singapore and that was fun. And I have a show coming up next month. It's going to be a huge festival for like over 50,000 people. So, I'm excited for that. It's going to be like me and Benny Benassi and Icona Pop.

Do you get nervous? You over-nerve? I'm over-nervous. Really? 50,000 people and you don't feel nervous?

Always when you first walk out, it's a little bit nerve-racking, but as soon as I put on the first song and everyone's having so much fun, the nerves just go away.

And Ibiza, you're changing your set every night. Correct?

Every time I play, I always play a different set. I never play the same set twice.

Becoming a DJ, doing the music. Did that, is that a big process, like years in the making to make you a DJ?

Yeah, I've been training for the past two years, like six hours a day.

In all the years of being around you, you always look amazing. You're flawless. How do you stay fit? How do you eat fresh? Maintain this coffee lifestyle?

Thank you. All of them on one piece of advice my mom gave me as a teenager is to stay out of the sun. So I've always done that. Okay. To keep my skin. For workout, I do Pilates and for diet I pretty much eat whatever I want, but I try to eat a lot of fruit.

Pilates is working on that core. Yeah. And we're going to do a little celebrity trend report, cuz you are very fashionable. Cool. Um, what trends are you loving?

I really am loving neon colors, like very bright. Like kind of the 80s pink, I really love that.

Okay. Is there any one look that you're like, "Oh, I shouldn't have done that?"

I think when I used to wear Uggs all the time. I'm so over those.

All the Uggs. Okay, you've just killed their business instantly on E news. Sorry. Um, who's your favorite designer right now, apart from yourself?

My friend Stacy Bendet, she does Alice + Olivia. I think her designs are always perfect.

One item in your closet that is your favorite. You can never live without. One item.

Um, I have these Alexander Wang leather pants that are really amazing. I bought 10 pairs of them because I love them so much.
