We uh I made a deal with our with our label and management team that I would shave it off before release week.

But I had to have it leading up to it, my lucky mustache.

Uh it seems to be.

And your music video has got Jennifer Lawrence in it.

Yeah I like to say I'm a kingmaker of Hollywood stars.

So We we picked her long before she was anything and and I made some calls for her and things really took off.

Battle of the Bands or something that you put this band together for?

Exactly.

We were in tenth grade uh in Charlottesville and our our school sponsored Battle of the Bands.

We're different bands from around the area who come in and we formed the band just so we could enter.

I was in another band that was in it.

And so these guys got jealous.

We did not get jealous.

We They got down on their hands and knees and asked me to join.

It worked out well man.

I think we think we got fifth place maybe out of ten bands.

So yeah and the next year the next year we we went back to win it.

What do you get up to on the road to to have fun with and then to relax?

Tell you something we don't relax to.

It's called the sandwich game.

It's pretty intense.

It's basically if you take a bite out of your sandwich you have to shield that sandwich or another one of us can come up and smash it.

Uh number one rule is you can't be angry.

You can't be angry.

It's high stress all the time.

So you can't be angry.

Well it's kind of You can be sad but not angry.

Yeah.

You can't be angry.

Well it's good to get your aggression out.

So it's good for that person.

It's just the Yeah okay.

And this album the new one, The Way it Was, you recorded it in Venice didn't you?

We were lived in Venice.

We recorded in North Hollywood so Okay.

We had this was the first time we ever had a daily commute that was we like our carpool set and Coffee mugs and everything.

Coffee mugs and everything.

45 minutes on the 405 everyday.

You should get the uh in in 2011 now that the actual you don't have to take a mug.

There's a there's a flask thing then.

But it's not as cool looking and you can you can have a mug.

You've got a mug and you boom out your car.
