Young Hollywood

Hey, what's up guys? We're hanging out in the Young Hollywood Studio with Joey King, Julia Goldani Telles, and Analise Basso.

Joey King

I was so worried I was gonna mess all those names up.

Young Hollywood

You did a great job.

Joey King

Did she do? I mean, mine's pretty simple.

Guest

Goldani Telles.

Joey King

Yeah.

Guest

Yeah, Goldani Telles. Thank god. It's so easy.

Joey King

It's Hard.

Guest

It's a Woozie.

Joey King

It's a Woozie.

Guest

It's a Woozie. I'm not from here.

Joey King

It's a beautiful name.

Guest

It's a beautiful name.

Young Hollywood

Okay, so I just saw the movie last night. It was so scary. I didn't sleep very well last night. I kept thinking I would see the Slenderman in my bathroom. I'm like, there he is. It's so good. It's so frightening. It's just one of those fun movies when you go to the theater, you wanna get that experience of feeling scared, you know? Yeah. So how do the three of you guys get together for this project because aren't you in New York for school and then you're in L. A. and aren't you in Aspen sometimes I saw that. I read that.

Guest

I live in Colorado now so that's cool.

Young Hollywood

So that's cool. So then, how did you guys all come together for this movie?

Joey King

I was attached to it um before like we started like doing the damn thing.

Guest

Doing the damn thing.

Joey King

And then these ladies uh came on and you guys kinda just like a little love affair.

Guest

Yeah, yeah. I like it. They sent me like all of the parts and like, just read for all of them.

Joey King

Yeah, Joey. Oh, they know that and I Analise and I have been friends for like four, five years or something like that. Yeah. Let's just cross over Julia now. We just cross over to Julia. So we knew each other beforehand. So this is like really exciting for us to get to work together cuz we've never gotten to work before.

Young Hollywood

See that's awesome. So have you worked on a scary movie before? Is this anyone's first scary film?

Guest

This is my first scary movie.

Young Hollywood

Your first.

Guest

Yeah. It was

Young Hollywood

That's cool. Right? What's it like filming a scary movie? It's gotta be harder than like a comedy cuz you really have to like pull that frightening stuff out of you and scream your head off.

Guest

It's not hard. I feel like it's easier to make people cry than make them laugh. Which is making people laugh is really a lot of pressure. You know, it's it's really a lot of pressure to be funny. But I think what was hard about the horror movie was the director kept telling us, so Vaughn who we love. He kept being like, nope, more fear. More fear. And we're just like week six. I'm just so not afraid anymore. Yeah. It's emotionally draining.

Young Hollywood

So yeah, that's what I was gonna ask you. You hear all these stories about directors trying to bring the fear out of these actresses. Did he do anything to help you feel scared?

Guest

He would. Um, no, I think what we would really do is we relied on each other a lot and if one person is really scared then all of a sudden you're like, oh, I wanna I wanna be really scared too. So it just it was a lot of fun like especially some stuff that we did together in the woods like that was crazy. Working on a scary movie especially when you have so many scenes with other people, it's definitely not like a solo thing. You're not acting solo. Like you're not with yourself. Like you are relying so much on the people around you. Thank god. Cuz I was also watching the movie the other day and I was like we were walking into shots and they looked so cool but I remember us being just really tired and it being 4 A. M. and like remembering what we were talking about before we went in and like the bond that we had that made the whole thing like lighter for us.

Young Hollywood

There's so many scenes in the woods in the dark. What scares you in real life? Like for me, I'm still afraid of the dark. That's like a really weird thing.

Joey King

Oh my god, me too. I have my whole life I sleep with my lights on. Yeah, I need like a nightlight. It's weird. No, most of the time. I don't like it. When you come home and all the lights are off, you're like, I'm I can't sleep with like one foot out of my blanket. Cuz That'll get you. That'll get you. But they'll grab that foot.

Guest

Like why would somebody be waiting in your house to kill you specifically?

Joey King

Cuz it happens.

Guest

I know, but like it's not gonna happen to us.

Joey King

Well, for the three of us. I know. Always be scared. Never, never be unafraid. And you know what it really helps to have a dog cuz they bark at everything and I'm like, I'm safe. Like my dog's 15 pounds but like he'll Yeah. He'll. You're very like I wish I could be as brave because I'm Honestly, I have so much anxiety when I go to sleep. I'm like, all right. My bathroom lights are on. My TV is on. My dog is next to me. I think I'm okay. And I have a baseball bat underneath my bed. Like always ready to go. I've done it. I've walked out with my dog by my side and I'm just like, hello? And I'm like, wow, I'm such a statistic.

Young Hollywood

You're a great. That is brave, you know?

Joey King

No, I think it's just like, I'm just I'm just hoping I won't hear anything back. Like that.

Guest

What if they were like, hey?

Joey King

Joey? That's the best.

Young Hollywood

Okay, before we end this segment, can you do your best horrified face for the camera? Like, I'm a terrible actress. I'll never get hired. I'll be like, I'm a terrible actress. I'll never get hired. Like. Oh.

Guest

So are we.

Joey King

Yeah, we we we all are good. Yeah, we all. At the same time. One, two, three. Sweet. Back, sweet. There we go. Sweet.
