The Incredible Chemistry of The In Between's Joey King & Kyle Allen

Awesome. What's up, Joey? Hi, Kyle. Hi. Hey. Welcome back. We've interviewed you I think over Zoom Kyle. Yes. Yes. Well, congrats on in between coming out very soon. How are you guys feeling?

Feeling shifty? I'm feeling a little bit better than you. Like, hey. Me? Oh, I'm feeling great, though. I yes. We're feeling so good. Oh my gosh. I love it.

Okay. So, did you guys know each other prior to filming or you found like you met each other through, you know, filming the movie.

We met through filming the movie. And are inseparable ever since. Ever since. Ever since.

What was very What was first impression? When you met each other in person?

I didn't like you. Um. Ew. I got the ick. No. Um My first impression was that Kyle was so talented and just so funny. And then, um I know I'm being nice. And then we worked together and then it was even better than advertised. What about you? What was your first impression of me? Um I I I thought I thought I thought you were fantastic. He's like, he's like yeah. I mean, most people don't know this, but Joey's been doing this for 7 18 years. 18 years. Um so I pretty much like just I I met her and was like, oh, I need to just shut up and watch. Yeah. Yeah. And I did.

I love it. You can tell you're very you have good uh chemistry off camera versus in, so, that's good. You know. So I can. And this this movie is really emotional. So a lot of people are commenting on the trailer like, wow, I'm even crying just watching the trailer part of the uh movie. So what it was it hard to detach yourself from the storyline apart from your real life and filming? Like, did you get really heavily involved with it?

I I would say I'm very involved. Yeah. This is a very involved process as is making a film. But um no we would be we would be crying of laughter before crying in the in the act. Yes, that is that is true. Kyle also did most of the heavy lifting. so that question. Well, I actually that's true. I mean, we would have like a scene where we're just like breaking up or confessing our love for each other and then we would be singing the YMCA in the corner just like moments before. But I have to say like the more emotional scenes towards like the end of the movie. I really got like a little sad. I I sometimes a bit of a hard time coming out of those scenes cuz it was just like. Of course. It was so heartbreaking and these characters and I love Kyle and it was just yeah. So that I mean there's a scene in particular where we're like sitting on this deck together and I don't want to give anything away. But my god, I had a hard time hard time stopping crying after that. Yeah, that was that that was sad. That was tough.

Have you seen it all the way through yet yourselves?

Oh yes. Absolutely.

Do you cry when you watch it through?

Yes, you make me cry. You make me cry. Well, I think I was fishing. I cried over myself.

Do you have any special plans when it comes out to the world? Will you watch it on Paramount+?

Duh. Where else? Where else? I mean, you want to come over and like hang out when maybe make some kids cuisines in the microwave and watch it? I don't know. That sounds fun. I mean, that sounds That sounds gross. Also adorable. I mean, that sounds gross. It also But yes, your question. Sorry. You're definitely going to watch it on Paramount+ when it comes out.
