You look so good. Thank you so much. I knew you were gonna come in a good fit. Cause you look so good on Instagram, always. Oh, thank you so much. I mean, We're matching. We are. I wore black, I, we were talking about this, but I was like, I'll wear all black because I feel like she might show up in black. Right. Do you have a certain, like favorite outfit you've worn? Um, oh, there's so many. I think one that's sticking out to me is like the white Mindfields dress, just because it was like so extra and like the story behind it, it literally came in like the biggest box. And like you, I'm just like imagining the people that are like shipping it like, what's in this box? Like, it's just like this like art piece of a gown, so I think that's one of my favorite. Yeah. You literally look like you were in a painting. Like out of the museum, like you got placed in the field. Thank you. A mountain. So we'll talk about that because I actually really want to talk about that music video because that was awesome. Thank you. But we did a Zoom call like at the beginning of Covid. Yes and so much has happened. So much has happened. It's been crazy. Yeah. Oh my gosh. What would you say that you maybe might've like learned about yourself, your music like from then till now? Um, I think that I've just like had so much time to write for like the music side of things and like discover what I want to do and where I want my project to go and so it's like everything feels like it's shaping up to be everything that I've ever dreamed of. And before I felt like I was kind of in, in experimentation zone where I just wanted to try so many things, but I feel like I've found my like my zone and my world and I'm so excited about it because I've had all year to just be writing and, um, but like things that I've learned about myself, I've spent so much time alone and with myself that I've just become really comfortable and just understanding what I like, who I am, and just like made some like lifelong connections as well. So that's great. Yeah. And speaking of lifelong connections, we know you have a song with John Legend. Yes. So it's Mindfields. Yes, Mindfields. How did that, how did the collab with him and the idea of the song come about? Cause that's major to have a song with him. Thank you. It was originally supposed to just be a solo track and we put together a wish list of people that we thought would sound amazing on the song and he was on there. And like when you make those things you don't expect anything of it. You just like you write it down and then you're like who knows what'll happen. But a week later he comes back with like his like voice on the track and I'm like, what is going on? Like I literally was in so much shock and when I heard his voice on it, that's when it finally like sunk in a little bit and he added so much soul, so much depth and it was just like such a big honor to work with him because to have someone of that caliber just like trust like your project and believe in you is just a really big milestone. Right. Yeah. And to get it sent back to you and like you listening to it, it's like he like, he liked your song. Yes, that's what I was like, oh my God. Like when I heard him like harmonizing on top of my voice. I was like, what's going on? Like is this real? I was like, am I dreaming? Literally. Oh, and at the time of the Zoom call we didn't know that was gonna happen. So like that was a major milestone. Yes. Like it was just like everything is so unexpected. It's, it really keeps me going. I'm like, what is the next unexpected thing. Like this industry is so random. But if you just keep working and having fun at what you do, like so many fun and great things will like come your way without you even expecting it. It's just like always so random. Yeah. Right. Is there another person that you have in mind that you'd put on another wish list of yours? Oh, there's so many. Like, I, I really want to collaborate with like a pop diva. Like I like Doja Cat, Ariana Grande. You would be good with Doja Cat. Oh, like. She's killing it right now. She's so amazing. I love her versatility and she's just she seems like such a fun human that's just truly herself, which I really admire. Um, and just like people that I grew up listening to like Lady Gaga, Beyoncé, Rihanna. But like these are like wish list. Yeah, but you you wrote a big wish list and you got a big one. So that's epic. Hopefully, you never know. Yeah. And you have your new single Puppets out now. Yes. Who, how, what was your mindset and does any like certain person inspire that like your songs and Puppets especially? Um, it like was inspired by so many different like things and like experiences that I saw and that I felt. It was like I was like one person too many of like like seeing women like especially young women dim their light and like just make themselves smaller for other people, like especially men. And I'm like, no. Like I just want to write a song that could be an anthem for these people for them to know like, you do not need to change yourself for anyone. Literally. Like and I want anyone to hear this and think that like you just be yourself and if anyone thinks you're too much, like they just need to get on your level. Like or leave. Yeah. Yeah. For real. Yeah. And that you, your hair and outfit for that was epic too. Thank you. For your music video shoots, do you have a say in what you wear and like how your hair looks and makeup and stuff? Yeah, I actually have a really big like say in everything. I'm I'm super invested in the fashion world and the hair and makeup world. Like that's something that I really care about and I find really fun to do and so we will just like brainstorm like, what, what's the vibe and then we'll go from there and be like, what about these hairstyles and then we'll pick and same thing with makeup. Yeah, for sure. Do you ever do your own makeup for your music videos? Um, not for my music videos, but just for like day-to-day stuff like today. Yeah. Yeah. Looks really good. Thank you. We just talked about that on the Zoom as well. Cause I was like, I I remember before like meeting you, meeting you over the Zoom and now I was like, oh my gosh, your makeup always looks good. And then I knew you like doing it too. Yes, I love makeup. Um, and for videos I like, I've had so many great people do my makeup and it's so cool to see how like what their take of my face. You know what I mean? I'm like, that's so weird to think about. It's like some some people just like will just like add their like flare and I'm like, oh, that's so cool. I would have never done that with my eyes or like I would have never picked this color for my lips. So it's really fun. Yeah. For sure. And you're big on social media across the board. You have like 2.5 million on TikTok, like millions on Instagram. How is it also kind of, you know, sharing your life through social media like this roller coaster of like music and everything that you're doing? Um, it's like it's very overwhelming, but at the same time I feel so comfortable because I think I truly have like the sweetest fans. Yeah. Um, they're so supportive and they're so funny and I just feel like it's a really good time. Like every time I go online, there's just so much love and so much positivity. And so it's, it feels like there's a lot of people but at the same time, I feel like we're just like such a like close family. And um, yeah, it's, it's crazy to see what each song like the amount of ears there are and I'm like, I'd so I'm like, I didn't know that things grew within this like span of time. And even with Puppet, I'm like, oh, like the first day streams were like this much more than this. And like at the end of the day that doesn't matter, but I'm like, there's so many more people and I don't even realize it. Yeah. You have like 41 million views on Mindfields and like 21 million on I think Tears of Gold. Yeah. Like I think I like Like you have a lot of millions of views on these videos too. Thank you. Yeah, I didn't even check the views on Tears of Gold in like a while, but I didn't know that it was over Yeah. Like 21 million. When you think about it, like if you could, you know, just picture 41 million people. Like, do you grasp that as like the person who literally made the song? I don't. Like, it doesn't click. It's so weird. And the funny thing is, I feel like nothing clicks until like years later. Like even with Mindfields, like I felt like it was such a dream and like nothing was real at the time and now I'm looking back and I'm watching the video and I'm listening to the song and I'm like, that happened. Like now it's finally sinking in. But like when I think of 41 million, I'm like, what is that? Like what is 41 million? Like I can't even picture what that is. That's awesome. And I read like reading through your comments on YouTube, like I'm sure you do it. But they're all like you were saying positive. Like people literally are like powerhouse. Like love her and I'm not just saying this type you up. But like your fans also like are very nice people. They're so sweet. That's what I'm saying. They're like such good people. Like good humans with amazing hearts. And I'm like, I feel so like lucky that I get to do this with like and share music with such good people. It's so much fun and I'm that's what drives me to work harder and be like, I want to make more music that we can all like love and share together. They're very nice people. It's crazy. Do you have a fan name, fandom name? Yeah. Um, the Fonz. The Fonz. Yeah. And they have like a little nickname. They're like The Fondom instead of like the fan. Yes. Oh my gosh, that's perfect. Um, and yeah, like I call them like little Fonnies sometimes. Oh, these code like pet names you have for all of them. I love it. I love the fandom. And you've also, you were in Vogue, you were in Elle. Yes. Which is a big honor too because you love fashion, like all that. Like did you like read through Vogue and Elle magazine growing up? I did. Like I, I was always immersed in the fashion world and that was always something that intrigued me. Yeah. Um, and so that was also like a dream come true. Um, and going to Fashion Week was so crazy too and seeing like a fashion show in real life. Like I would watch them on TV, I would watch them on YouTube and to be there in person and see different designers' takes on like how they wanted their runway, how they wanted their like clothes to be presented was so like so cool. Yeah. Do you would you ever have your own clothing line? Oh, absolutely. Like I, that's. Would you do that? I would 100% want to do that one day. Like, I've already been like brainstorming of what I would do if I could. And so it's in the back of my head for sure. Yeah, that'd be so awesome. And aside from music and like behind the scenes you're in, like we're in L.A. now. How do you like L.A.? Do you like traveling? I really do. I'm getting a little like more used to it. Before I feel like when I would get on a plane I, I would just get so disturbed just by like the time zones and stuff. But now I feel like I've found my routine. I go on the plane. I take like my nausea medication. And I'm like, I just pass out. I go to bed. I wake up and I'm ready to go. And so I love traveling. I love seeing new places. I was in Egypt like a few weeks ago. And I was literally there for like 10 hours or something. Like it was, it was I wanted to explore so badly. It was so beautiful. But I'm just being back out there and like traveling is so much fun. Yeah. Yeah, for sure. And what else do you like, what do you like to do when you're just like hanging out in your room like at home? Um, I love to play video games with like Really? my little sister. Or just alone. Um, I love to read. Yeah. Um. What video game? I just like play like the like silly fun ones. Like I'll play Mario Kart or like Donkey Kong like Tropical Tropical something. Yeah. Tropical. Oh my God. My little sister's gonna be like, how did you not remember the name? But yeah, um, and I've been trying to play Zelda. I'm like really slow. But I'm getting there. You're getting there. Not a lot of time to, you know, practice, but you're getting there. Yeah. That's awesome though. Video games. I would've never expected that. Yeah. But that's cool. And who are some of your favorite artists? Um, kind of like the people that were on my wish list. Like Ariana Grande, Doja Cat, Beyoncé, Rihanna, Lady Gaga. Um, just like powerhouses and just powerful women in music. And what's one huge goal of yours, would you say? Um, Like if you did it you would just be like, okay, like obviously you'd wanna do more, but like, I made it. Like, everything's good. You know, like, this is amazing. I think that like one massive goal like that I would have is probably like having a number one album. Yeah. Just because it's like, it's a whole story you wanted to tell and for so many people to be listening to it and appreciating it. Um, would be a dream come true. So Yeah. Yeah. That'd be so awesome. Should we expect an album soon? I mean, I always say like, album's in the works. And things just like get pushed back or whatever it is, but it truly is in the works. Do you remember the exact picture? Yes. Oh my God, really? Was it black? Yes, they were. Yeah, I know. But like I remember that photo. I was like next to my like laptop working. And then I was like, let me just prop my phone up and take some selfies. Yes. The TikTok you posted in 2019, which got 24 million views. Okay. What song were you singing in the TikTok? Oh, I think I know. Was it Halo? Yes, it was. Yay. You're doing great. Thank you. You're doing so great. I'm like, I don't know the like exact answers, but I'm like countdown didn't get that much. So I'm like, what one would have gotten that much. I'm like process of elimination. Yeah. Well, that's why I'd help you. Okay. I'll help you. And where were you? Cuz it looked like you were like on set somewhere. I was actually on set for my music video of you don't even know me. Gotcha. And I had like green, like green thing on my lips and then green eyeliner and then I remember like my sister was like, go, like like film something. And I filmed the video and it blew up and I was like, what is going on? And you're like, what is this? Like, I don't know. Like I didn't scroll down enough, but that was like one of your first TikToks too. It was one of my, like it was one of my very like first five or something like that. Yeah. Um, and that was when TikTok was pretty new and the video just like hit a million so quickly. I'm like, what is this app? Like what is going on? Literally so weird, but like so cool. And then you posted one, either a little bit before or a little bit after that got 16 million. Like it was like literally the 24 million a random video that had like a million. And then 16 million. So like your TikTok early days were killing it. I mean, killing it now too. Cuz you have like millions of views today. But like your early days people loved you right away. Oh, thank you. Okay. You have how many views on your Mindfields video with John Legend? Oh, I think it just hit a new milestone, but I don't Also, please pardon my handwriting. Was it 52? I think you're at 41. But not to discredit you, cuz 41 is still a lot. No, no. Oh, shoot. I was thinking of streams. Sorry. Oh, streams. Okay, so you probably do have 52 million streams to be honest. I think it's I think it's 52 now. But like Sorry, I was thinking of streams. My bad. I, I. Okay, well streams like you just have a little bit more millions than the video. Cuz the video is 41 million. Yeah. I, I wouldn't have gotten that one anyway. I didn't remember the exact number. But streams you got. Yes. We're assuming. But you would know streams. I got the video, you got the streams. Okay, cool. Okay. In your genius interview you did where you break down Hero, you said that you don't let people into your life until what? I don't let people in my life until, is it like one word? It's like a little sentence cuz you say a little sentence in the interview. For Hero. This is definitely wrong. Until I know they're 100% like I'm gonna be in their life. You said that a long a long period has passed. Oh. I don't remember that was hard. I feel like I talk a lot. So I'm like, who knows what I could have said. If you like somebody, what is the process for you? Like Like are you scared at first? Like are you hesitant? Or like will you like, oh God, I love him. Or like I've just literally been like so focused on myself. I don't even know what I would do in that situation. I'd I'd probably just be like, What would I do? I'd probably just be like, hello. Hi. Um, and then I think I'd be very hesitant. Yeah. For sure because I just wouldn't know what to do with myself. I'd be like, what's going on? Right. And you have a lot going on too. Yeah, it's hard for me to let people in. So if that ever happened, I'd be like, Yeah. Who are you? Like It'd be a long time period has passed. Or a long. Literally until a long time has passed. Then we will ask you again when that time comes. Exactly. Okay. In your music video, Tears of Gold, which has over 25 million views, which color were your nails? Tears of Gold video. White? Yes, they were. Yay! You got it. While a little good ding, ding, ding, ding there. Yay! Are do you always have your nails done? Um, I used to have them always done. But like since I've been in the studio so much, I've just been like, it's so hard for me. It's not like, it's just not ideal to play with nails. And so I've been getting like press on nails. But then they like fall off sometimes. So I'm like, do I just go back to putting like getting my nails done. So, it's just been, they're normally done though. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Um, okay, last one. Who said this about you? One of the most powerful new voices you'll hear this year. I think I remember that one too. That was such an ugly B. I need to redo that. That's embarrassing. Billboard?
