Doing It Right: Lip-Syncing King, Keenan Cahill

We have a Young Hollywood song. And I would love to show you some of my lip syncing skills.

What's up, guys? Nicki Novak here in the Young Hollywood studio with YouTube superstar, Keenan Cahill.

How's it going?

Good.

Do you like being called a superstar? Does it get old?

Uh, usually I I don't like call like calling myself like famous or anything like a superstar 'cause it's, um, feels like big headed.

So you've remained humble, even though you are a superstar.

Yes.

I'm going to say it for you then. How okay, how many YouTube views now?

403 million right now.

That is unbelievable. And how many subscribers to your channel?

Like 600 and like 93,000.

Wow. That is unbelievable. So the first time you were in your room and you decided to record a song. Like, what inspired you to do it? How did you get the idea?

It was kinda like experimenting. I had a like a, um, computer for my 13th birthday. I was like, alright, it's got a webcam. I heard of YouTube, so I thought, I might just put like stupid videos up there, see how it works and everything. I mean like Katy Perry tweeted it and then, um, Facebooked it. And then Chelsea Handler saw it and she said, will I want him on my show? Do you think he can be on the show? And that was like how like 50 Cent happened and 50 Cent said, yeah, sure, I'd love to do a video and

So you've pretty much met all your idols now.

Not no, not all of them.

Who are some that you haven't worked with that you'd like to work with?

Chris Brown is a big one. I've always wanted to. I met Pitbull before and I already know I'd love to do a video with him, so.

So, let's talk about all the people you have collaborated with. Because it's there's been a lot now.

Yeah.

Like a G6, like a G6. Now I'm feelin' so fly, like a G6. Cut. Cut, cut. Hi.

Hi.

How are you doing?

I'm good.

Uh, what are you doing?

I'm lip-syncing.

So, Jen Aniston, there's some Glee, some people from Glee.

Yep, Glee, The Glee Cast, um.

Who from the Glee cast?

Darren Criss. Diana Agron. She's been in here.

Yeah. So when you work with like 50 Cent, what was the collaboration like?

Um, I mean, he was really nice, really down to earth. Like he wasn't, you know, a lot of people are like, was he like totally, you know, D A or was it just like, you know, let's just do it and I'm out of here? He was he wasn't like that at all. He was he actually sat down and said, oh my God, he's like, what have you been doing lately? He's like, I heard about you from Chelsea.

So now you have your website, Keenan's Room. And you're acting now too. I saw Keenan's Crush. It's it's a little acting, um, a little web series. In Keenan's Crush, you're there's a girl that you have do you really have a crush on her? Like, who is the girl? How did you find this girl? I mean, she's gorgeous. Is this your girlfriend or something?

Oh, no, she's um, it is Jessica. She, she, um, she's an actress or anything. She, uh, she really like she said, yeah, I'd love to do it. You didn't know it was going to do like as well as it is. You thought it was just going to like generally go and like maybe grow more audience, but like people are actually drawing to it.

So can we expect a love scene between the two of you anytime soon?

Um, maybe maybe. I don't know. Really? I don't know.

Now that you're this big superstar at school, how are people? Are they?

I mean, it's still the same. They're just they're They know they sometimes they'll ask like, where are you going this weekend 'cause they know I'm probably up to something. For the first year when I went to high school, people did freak out but then as towards like the middle of the year, people stopped. And like this year it's just the same. Only like freshmen come in and they're they're like, oh my gosh.

So tell me about your documentary.

From Sherm. They actually came to us and said, you know, we we'd love to do a documentary and everything. Um, their last documentary was actually for Lady Gaga. So we filmed in L. A. and then in Chicago and then in New York. And, you know, it was just a story based around like how everything got started and what's been going on with my disease and everything. And you know, we had like people like 50 Cent in Turrbings and

I would love to get some tips from you. Because you are a fabulous dancer. You have the moves. We have a Young Hollywood song. And I would love to show you some of my lip-syncing skills. Now what do I do with the moves?

Just go with it. Just go with the feeling like

Is this a Keenan move?

I Whatever you want to do.

You ready?

Yes.

Yeah. Oh, so tell me what I do. All right, cut. No more please. I got a very small sprinkling round of applause. How did I do?

You did you did pretty good.

Give me some okay, give me a rank like a school ranking. A, B, C, D or E. You can be honest.

Um, B.

Not bad for a first try. Now what what would I do to improve?

I guess maybe a little more energetic. I don't know. I don't know.

Thank you, Keenan. Thanks for coming in. You're awesome.

Thank you.
