(upbeat music) What's goin' on guys? Look who's hanging out with me today! Hey! All day. It's our buddy, Tyler Posey. What's goin' on? How are you?
I'm really good. I'm promoting my new show.
Yes, Now Apocalypse.
Now Apocalypse.
For everyone watching and also the fans know we're not on our typical white Hollywood couch. We are somewhere very different today.
Yeah we are.
So where are we?
We are in the middle of Hollywood, California, uh at a studio where we're doing behind the scenes interviews for the show.
So it's a lot of photo-taking and like stuff like that right?
Yeah exactly like, I had to do a bunch of stuff where I say, "Next up on Now Apocalypse" and that kind of stuff.
Are you nervous? It's your first round.
So far the promotion and everything for it has been just been a breeze.
Well I can-
Except for this. (laughing)
Oh no! We're only like one minute in; this is horrible. (laughing) But no seriously, I'm so excited for their show. It sounds super cool, and I just want to jump right into this. So what's going on between you and Avan Jogia? Is like onscreen little romance about to happen?
It's pretty intense, um, I'd never obviously done anything like this before. As an actor you kind of always prepare yourself for the time when you get cast as, uh, like either a gay character. If you're- if you're already not gay, you get- there's offers that come about as an actor where you get an offer to play a gay role. When this show popped up I couldn't say no to it because the character was just so great. And I was excited to- to explore this kind of realm that I've never done before. Me and Avan have some pretty intense hookup scenes. Like more intense than anything I've ever done straight, you know, on camera.
Wow.
And it was a breeze. It was so much fun on set. I had the greatest time. Greg, the director, made it so easy and comfortable on set, and it was just- it was great. I had the greatest time filming it.
I'm sold right now with that answer.
Yeah, we- I had to make out with Avan, um.
Is he a good kisser?
He- He's a good kisser. I'm better.
I was about to say, would he say you're a good kisser? That's the real question.
I don't know, hopefully. I'm excited to hear what he has to says. But like, he- we both have facial hair. (laughing) And it kind of hurts. I feel bad for you guys, for anyone who has to kiss a stubbly man.
That's true. But it always looks good, a little bit- a little facial hair.
Yeah, what do you think- what about my mustache?
I like it. It's very new, yeah, yeah.
Thank you.
Can I feel it?
Yeah absolutely.
Oh guys, it's fuzzy; it's warm, mmhm, yep.
It is warm, isn't it? I'm trying to think of other descriptive words. I can't.
Fuzzy and warm, that's all you need.
Yeah, there you go. It's inviting, I like to think.
That works too. Yes. So the show takes place in LA, right?
Yes it does, yeah.
So, where's like your favorite place in LA that- where you just want to escape, like zen out, hang out? Do you have like a favorite place?
I do, yeah. There's a bar right down the street from me. It's a burger and beer place. It's called Stout.
I love Stout.
Stout's great. So good. The vibe is really chill there. It's never too packed. I'm friends with all the staff that are there, and its- What I like when I look for a place to like chill it's gotta be like indoors and outdoors, so I can have a view. If it's too hot I can like hang out inside but still kinda have like a nice view, um. It's just- It feels like vacation when I'm over there.
I love that. Yeah. So, also in the show, it can kinda be seen as millennials who are kind of navigating insecurities and uncertainties in life, right?
Absolutely, yeah.
Which we've all been there at some point. So I wanna know, can you recall a time where you went through something similar, where you like overcame it? Something that kind of stands out.
Acting. Yeah. Like when I- when I was really heavy into Teen Wolf and the show was getting a lot of attention, and us as actors and individuals were getting a lot of attention from people in the streets and just kind of walkin' around, I got to a point where I couldn't tell if that's what I wanted. You know, I'm still not struggling with that cause I know it's something that I want to do and know that it comes with the job, um, but there was just something that felt overwhelming about it all. You know, I think my whole entire life, I've never really been fully committed to the idea of where I am in- in this world of acting. And I realize, I'm like, I've just gotta commit to it. I gotta accept who I am, what this- what I'm doing, and be a good role model. And when I kind of started viewing it that way, it kind of all switched.
One thing for sure is that I think it's so special that you remain open with all your fans, with us at Young Hollywood about the things that you're going through. Cause that's so relatable, and that's why we love you, and that's why we're gonna keep following you. Yeah! So, I love that.
I like that you guys- Thank you for sharing that. I like that you guys let me do that. It's nice being able to just be open and- cause that falls into being a good role model, you know? Sharing everything that I go through, whether it's good or bad, you know? And, um, kind of showing- sharing my experience of how I cope or deal with it.
You're so amazing every time. Thanks so much for hangin' up.
Yeah, good seeing you again.
Yes.
