(upbeat music) Whadup, Young Hollywood? We are crashing the set with Avan Jogia.

(chuckling) Great pronunciation of the name. I got it right. Nailed it, landed it, so good.

Dude I feel like I've kind of like followed you from one show to the next show.

Yes.

This is not our first Young Hollywood set tour. (whispering) It's Avan Jogia, and you're on the set of Twisted and we're rolling right now, and so we're really quiet. Now we are on the set of your new show Now Apocalypse.

Yes! What the fuck?

Fill us in.

Uh, Now Apocalypse, it's really cool. It basically follows these four young millennial kids in Los Angeles. And he figures out that there's aliens, he thinks there's aliens in the dating scene, and it turns out he's right.

(upbeat music) I play Carly Carlson, what a name, right? We both have like a sense of humor, but hers is like way better than mine, and her sense of style is just way better than mine. Aw! She's awesome. She's so wild and she's kind of just unapologetic with who she is.

Now Apocalypse. Yes. Your character, fill us in.

She's very pragmatic--

Okay.

And promiscuous. She doesn't worry about what people think when she says something.

I love it.

And she's very direct.

He's like this, yeah I think he's like this really special, big love in Uly's life.

So I wanna know, what was like the deal breaker for you to take part in Now Apocalypse? What was the thing where you're like, "Yo, I'm in! "I'm totally sold!"

I've worked with Gregg Araki before on some stuff, he's an amazing filmmaker. No one speaks on teen angst, and like young-ness as accurately as he does.

I am her and I just want to be her, and it was obviously there are so many other things like Gregg Araki and just like after reading all ten scripts eventually, that was a huge part of it.

I actually worked with Gregg Araki before in a movie, and then he called me back to be on this show, and I couldn't believe it.

(jazzy music) Let's bring it back to the Tyler and Ulysses character,

Yeah.

And all that fun stuff. What would you say is the best way to approach a passionate kiss?

Having actual feelings of great love help. I might just suck at it and I don't know about it.

You're such an Aquarius. People are really nice. You are such an Aquarius, he's like, you know, just live my life (chuckling) and I just chill here on set, and the director just wanted me, (chuckling) and I'm living my dream. (laughing) I love it.

(upbeat music) This is the set where all the aliens, some of the aliens are at. This thing is very Independence day.

Yeah this is also where I found out where they shot that Key & Peele sketch where he's Lando Calrissian.

(upbeat music)

Now I wanna know, what do you do to get prepared for a scene. Do you listen to any music any Cardi B?

What are some similarities between Roxanne and your character? Don't hold back.

(upbeat music) Are they rolling? (whispering in background) Yeah, last looks. That last looks means that someone comes around and starts doin' this at your face. I'm not sure exactly if it's positive or negative, but it's just, they do it, they always do it. I want you never to cut. I want you to keep on rolling throughout the entirety of this, as awkward as possible. That's my request to the editor, I'm talking directly to you. You're gonna wanna shorten it but don't.

(chill electronic music) I'm just thinking about them using this whole take and it's making me laugh. This is so cool, I like want this when we're done filming, but I don't know where it came from, but its pretty cool. Carly's whole vibe is very mid-century like thrifty, but super stylish in a weird way.

I am not doing an American accent, it would be pretty horrible.
