Welcome to YoungHollywood. com. Hey guys, it's Michelle Marie, we're here at the launch of the Prince of Persia game, with the one and only Ryan Kwanten. How are you today?
Doing very well. Yeah. It's a nice little turnout tonight.
It is. So tell me about your involvement with the game today.
Well, I'm here to host the party, but I'm also, uh, very quietly a huge fan.
You are. Yeah. So you're a avid video game player, you would say?
Yeah, and sort of the Prince of Persia, that series in general, is one that appealed to me purely because it had such a, sort of, a strong story line.
Congratulations on the success of True Blood. You play Jason Stackhouse on the show and you're known to always have your clothes off, no clothes. So tell me more about, you know, having to get into the character, is it something that you were very comfortable with when you first started the role or is it something that you had to adjust to over time?
Being Australian there's a certain liberation one takes with their body, we're far more comfortable I think. But I always feel like I'm leaving myself in the careful hands of sort of Alan Ball and his writers, so I never feel like I'm being gratuitous gratuitous. Uh, I always feels like it has a story point. Jason's just a very rambunctious, virile young man, you know?
Yeah. Yes. Now season three's coming up. Now can you tell us how Jason is dealing with the killing and shooting of Eggs?
Yeah, I mean, um, killing a man is obviously not that easy to get over. Uh, and particularly for someone as, uh, simple-minded and and as easily swayed as Jason. So, he takes it pretty hard. Right. Uh, 'cause Tara's obviously a a dear friend to his too. Right. Um, yeah, so he spends sort of the the first portion of the season, you know, trying to deal with that and, uh, yeah, he goes to some pretty dark places. I'm going to New Orleans to find out what the hell is happening on my turf. Jason, if this is the same creature we think it might be, you don't wanna go anywhere near it. Trust me. Mr. Compton. I ain't about to sit back and let monsters destroy my town. Jason, this would be one of those times to use your head. Oh, I am. I ain't never been so clear in my whole life. This here is the war I've been training for.
Do you know any, if any uh, mystical creatures that are coming up in the next season, you can tell us about?
We have a ton of mystical creatures, as you put it. Yeah. Uh, a ton more characters and just a, yeah, all sorts of bizarre little creatures are coming out of the woodwork.
Do you ever see True Blood becoming a game one day? 'Cause I feel like so many people are so drawn to the series.
Interesting. Um, yeah, I guess there's uh, there's some there's some, yeah, some play points there for sure.
What is it about vampires that you think people most love?
Um, I don't know, I think it's just a a sort of a embracing of everything that's out there. I don't know, I think our show is about a lot more and deals with a lot more than just sort of that vampire world. And I think, uh, sort of the subtext or the the metaphors of our show sort of go a lot deeper than just a vampire show.
In your time off, what do you love to do? If you were to pick maybe three hobbies that you always go to. What are your three favorite hobbies?
I'm gonna give you a incredibly boring answer, but I I I love to work. So like when I'm not having time off, I kind of I I get very uh, jittery. But, um, pretty much sort of any sports, I'm addicted to sort of sweat, so uh, and then family time, uh, friends, yeah.
And for all the lady fans out there, you have so many fans that are always oohing and aahing over you. What would you say to them right now?
What would I say to them? Ladies, yeah. I guess I wish you were here, but uh, I could do a shot of uh, something with you at the bar. But um, until then, I'll see you on screen in a couple of weeks.
Three things that you look for in a girl, if you were to say three qualities that are most important in a woman.
Oh, it wouldn't even be three. I'd just uh, for me, just a good, genuine personality goes a long way. And a really nice smile. Like uh, yeah, just to show those pearly whites and just the genuineness. I think when you when your eyes smile, your whole face lights up. Hey, I'm Ryan Kwanten, just a little shout-out to the fans. I want to thank you guys for watching, for uh, being a fan of me. I hope you enjoy season three as much as we enjoyed shooting it. So, uh, thank you.
