The Bachelor's Arie Luyendyk & Lauren Burnham Talk Wedding, Babies, & Diaper-Duty

Joining me in the Young Hollywood Lounge at the Grand Prix of Long Beach. Ari and Lauren and little baby Lindyk. Little baby Lindyk. This is new. Very exciting. Congrats. Good to see you again. Yeah. Yeah. I dare ask, how are you? That's a very broad question. We're great. Yeah, we're great. We're uh we're just planning everything around the baby's arrival and still getting a lot of racing in. Last year when we spoke, you were just getting back to Phoenix looking at tons of houses together. What are must-haves in the RE household? A yard, a pool, enough bedrooms to have, you know, to plan for the future. Babies? Maybe. Not just relatives coming over. We're talking big maybe. Well, of course.

That's what we're planning on. It was like, wait, he's talking babies already. It's all happening within a year. I know, it's crazy. It's been quite the year, right, babe? Oh my gosh, yeah. You know, we have a beautiful house in Arizona. We're we're really settled in there. Um we had an awesome year last year. We traveled all over the world. And now we're just sort of, I don't know, Lauren's nesting a little bit now that she's seven months pregnant. We just decorated our entire house and I'm redecorating already. So, Yeah, she's got the nursery almost completed. Wait, tell me all about it. I have a three-year-old, so I went through this stage recently and nesting is the best.

So, tell me what are you doing with the nursery? What's the house like? Have you childproofed yet? What's going on? Okay. Not we haven't childproofed yet, but we are working on the nursery. Um we just got her crib. We got some of her other furniture. And some little clothes. Her furniture. Her names? You don't give it away yet, or you're thinking what? No, we're going to wait. We're saving that until she's born. Ariel? No, no version of Ari. Ari, Ariel. No version of Ari. No. No, unfortunately not. Is Dad okay with that? Yeah, he's definitely okay with that. I'm okay with that too. Do you have any ideas? Yeah, we actually have one picked out. You do?

We have our first picked out, our second, and our third child. I know, this just happened this week. Wait a second. I feel like every time I interview drivers here or anywhere really in the country, I bring them luck. Like they always seem to win races after I interview them. So last year when we spoke, you're like, I'm having babies. And here we are with child. So next year, you're predicting the next one already. So, I mean, it's possible, right? Yeah, maybe we'll be sitting here next year and She'll still be pregnant. Can we talk about the wedding in Hawaii? We'd love to. Yeah. Tell me everything. Were you just this euphoric bride or were you Bridezilla? How how how were your nerves?

What was happening? Um, honestly, I don't think I was much of a Bridezilla at all. I think I was pretty calm until maybe like two days before. And I expected the week before to be relaxing and fun and us to be able to like enjoy Hawaii, but it wasn't that way at all because we hadn't met any of our vendors yet and we hadn't seen what they were doing for the wedding day. So we spent a lot of time meeting with them and not so much relaxing, but it was beautiful and it turned out perfectly. Yeah, we've never been to Maui before, so we planned the entire wedding, you know, from Arizona. Then we got to Maui, we were like, wow, Maui's kind of big. Our hotel's an hour away from the venue.

I kept having to drive back and forth. Um so we did a lot of driving and we had a lot of FOMO because our friends are all having fun and um but we still had a blast. We went to Kauai afterwards. That was the honeymoon. That was the honeymoon, yeah. Good. So we had a we had an awesome time. So, we're here at the Grand Prix because you're doing the two-seaters. So, you still got your foot Yeah, dancing around an Indy car. That's super fun. Yeah, it's been awesome. I have a partnership with Honda, so I drive the Honda Indy car two-seater. Um and it's really great because we have an amazing group of riders. Like last year, we had Channing Tatum at one of our races.

And so hopefully this is sort of a partnership that'll last for years to come. So this weekend I'm actually a spectator. So this will be the first weekend I've just kind of walking around not driving anything. So I'll be able to take in the event from a fan perspective. So. Well, I have another little event planned for you guys while you're with me in the Young Hollywood Lounge. Okay. Okay. Well, pretend it's like a pre-baby shower for you. And we're going to play like two little baby shower games. Oh, I love it. Is that okay? Sure. Okay, good. Well, let's see. Ari, this is for you. Pad and pen cuz you're going to have to write down. Ooh, my little bag of tricks. Okay, ready? Now.

Is this a quiz? No. How big do you think her belly is? Oh no. What from where to where? Around. Around? He's never been to a baby shower apparently. I'm going to say 30 inches. Aww, that's really sweet. Am I way off? I think so, yeah. Here, I'll hold it while she measures it. 40. 40. What did you say? I said 30. Okay. So, pretty close. He's cute. Now, okay, that's sweet. Now, but that means she's growing, she's healthy. What are you craving? How has the pregnancy been going? And we're not done with the games yet. Don't even think. Um pregnancy has actually been pretty easy at least for right now. Um in the beginning I had morning sickness for about a month and a half.

Um and then after that, it was great. How's your diaper game? Oh, we have no idea. Well, the last diaper I changed was Sean's baby. Oh, Samuel. Well, you are in luck. You are in luck because here at the Young Hollywood Lounge. Okay. We have diapers. Not just diapers. Here, you want the diapers? These are diapers. They go on a baby's tushie. Sounds good. Oh, but we need babies, you asked? I'm fairly certain I can figure this out. Babies. I'm not going to give you any instruction. You're going to do it too. But oh Diaper duty for daddy. Okay, so I think you can just Okay, let's uncrush. Want to do it on your on her lap or I'll do it. All right. You've got this, babe. Here we go.

Wait, let's see. Did you even put it down? Wait, you put the right side down. That's great. Okay. So now we're going to go like like this. Ari on diaper duty, here we go. We're like, lift a little legs up. That's impressive. All right. Hey, this is actually pretty good. I am very impressed. Good job, babe. This is me on diaper duty for the first year. Wait a second. You did it the first try. Yeah. I'm pretty, you know, I I can figure it out. It's not that hard. All right, this is your new job. Okay. Okay, I'm let's now you get to change the diaper. Well, it's not dirty, so let's see how you do. Ready? I am Ari. Wow. It's impressive, right? Wow. I have to say I've had a lot of practice.

I had a little brother. She's like, I can do this in my sleep. Oh, that's pretty good. I think you're better at that. Maybe you should you should do that more than me. I have a new job. Here we go. There we go. I think we're set. We're ready. You're ready. This is for this one and this is for the future one that you're going to have because we said it right here, it's going to happen for next year. Exactly.
