Welcome to Young Hollywood. com. Hey everyone, it's Michelle Marie and I'm here with Anil Kapoor of Slumdog Millionaire. Now, this movie has been the movie of the year. And I just want to know first off, how does it feel to even be part of something that's such a phenomenon?
You know, I'm blessed, I feel. Someone up there likes me, that's why I'm there. I'm part of this film.
Now, you've definitely had your time in Bollywood. How do you think it's different from the Hollywood being out here and
Same, it's the same. Show business is the same all over the world, especially in India. And especially Bollywood-Hollywood, it's almost the same. This fusion of this film Slumdog Millionaire is just the beginning of the I think future projects which are gonna come now.
Now, you do play the game show host in the show and I'm wondering, did you ever meet Regis Philbin? Have you met him since? Yeah, and how was that?
Oh, it's wonderful. He's a great, fantastic human being and it was great fun and he's so warm and, you know, he's exceptional. You know, men like these are not made these days. They are special. And then I had the honor to meet Larry King also who I've been a great admirer of. So, I met David Frost. So, you know, I met these great anchors and hosts who have ruled the world and, you know, interviewed and met all the people in the world. So, they're lucky and I'm very lucky to meet them.
The one memory from the set or from filming this movie that is your most memorable.
Going on stage to receive the Screen Actors Guild Award was very, very memorable because there I was on stage receiving this award from Anthony Hopkins and the entire fraternity was there to, you know, cheer us on stage and here I was, you know, speaking to them and they were responding and they were really very, very encouraging and very warm.
What could you say to any young actors or young people out there, you know, to get to where you are right now? What steps can they take?
I think, uh, you just, you know, dream hard and you get there.
Absolutely. And if you can describe yourself in one word?
Normal. Ordinary.
Bollywood is always young and this is Young Hollywood. This is Anil Kapoor reporting for Young Hollywood.
