Pitbull Opens Up About UglyDolls' Inspiring Message About Imperfection

No, really you are. I mean, it's there's not many people out there who can say, you know, I'm a household name, not only in Latin communities around the world, but just with everyone around the world.

Well, thank God, I've been working very, very hard. Been in the game for for 20 years now. Uh, just so that I can say if you Google the word Pitbull, I come up first before the dog. That's how you know you made it in life. You come up before Pitbull the dog.

You're a rapper, a singer, a business mogul. I mean, now let's talk about the fact that you're doing voice overs of an animated animated dog nonetheless.

Yeah, right? What a coincidence. Pitbull's going to play the dog in the animation. Look, let me tell you, it's an amazing partnership to be a part of what's going on with UglyDolls. And then you play UglyDog, and then you play SlickDog. By the way, we are more SlickDog. We are more SlickDog. Yes. Today's Today's SlickDog. Yesterday, I was UglyDog. What I really love about it is not only is it is it fun, you also teach people that looking the word ugly, if you break it down, it's you got to love yourself.

Wow! That is genius.

Yeah. That's what you say in the neighborhood, if you think it's a game, play with it. But with that said, is this. Now, for real, look, to be involved with this movie, what I love about it is the message. Yeah. And the message is with uh, society that we live in right now, it's all about instant gratification, it's all about perfection, which let me tell you something, it doesn't exist. And um, believe it or not, imperfection is perfection, right? So, to be involved with this and not only have fun with it and be excited about it, cuz it was a lot of fun. Is having the the message. And we're to all the kids out there, especially now where everybody's living in a world that's all about followers and likes, I want you to forget about followers and likes and I want you to think about being the leader and unique. And that's what UglyDolls is about. It's owning who you are, your differences. Yeah. And when they go from Uglyville to Perfectville

And everybody's the same. Only exists in the movie, by the way. Not in real life. It can't, right? You're right. You see what I'm talking about? And that's what I I really loved about the movie and being involved with it because it's the perfect message, perfect timing to let everybody know that perfect doesn't exist. Don't tell anybody I told you that.

It's really true though, because, you know, especially like I saw the movie and it was literally one of my all-time, I really am not even kidding when I say this, my all-time favorite movies. It had it just was the way it was done. Firstly, it's the most ridiculous cast who play the voices. Kelly Clarkson, Blake Shelton. I can go on and on.

You're trying to take my job. Keep going. Keep going. I'm just going to Yeah, you go, girl. Take my job.

Kelly Clarkson, Blake Shelton, Bebe Rexha, Wanda Sykes, Gabriel Iglesias, Nick Jonas. Oh, and this guy named Pitbull. Some some other little person named Pitbull. Um, and by the way, you know that soundtrack is going to be fire because when I came out of that movie, I was like, can I download these songs already? I was going crazy. I wanted to hear this.

Well, you know what's crazy is that I had a record for this well, we had the opening and I wanted to make sure that we made the raps real fun for the little kids so when they, you know, they can sing along to it. I'm like, man, through this movie, I'm going to have a record that's bigger than Frozen's record. Cuz everybody heard that record over a million times, right? Let it go, let it go. And I was like, man, we need to let it go. Let it go. So, I'm like, man I think you should do a remix of Let It Go, like Pitbull style.

Okay, don't taunt me with a good time. Throw a little rap version in there.

Yeah, so it was funny. I had a record for the movie. And then they're like, ah, man, we we really can't use your record.

Really?

Yeah, because I learned something new. You broke the fourth wall. I'm going, huh? What's the fourth wall? So when the kids see you rapping as the character, that's cool. But if they see you like they hear the song and they don't see you rapping it, it's almost like confusing. So with that said, I'm not on the soundtrack.

But you still did. They still let you throw in some Pitbull, you know, verses.

Yeah, I got in some dollys and some, you know. I got a couple of them there.

That's all you need. And then you know it's you. I mean, that's

We're in the game. Man, I'm I'm just going to start making records like that. You know, Get the go.

Your whole story and your background of how you just how you grew up and you know, you basically came from nothing. And you know, you really hustled. You know, you did what you had to do to sort of stand out and be different. I'm

Thank you. I appreciate it. I've been uh, been very blessed. Thank God for that. Thanks to the fans. Like I said before, 20 years in the game. And living in an industry where you're here today and gone today. And to be able to survive and maintain for all these years, if it wasn't for the way that I grew up and the way I was raised and the things that have happened in my life, that's why I say I took it from a negative to a positive. There's no way that I wouldn't have been able to survive in the game. So to be a part of a project like this that allows music which took me out, you know, gave me an escape. Right. And gave me an opportunity to be able to utilize it in something that has a message that I'm telling you, people needed more than ever. Phones get smarter, cars get smarter, TV's get smarter, people get dumber. That's just how it's working.

Yeah, yeah. That's true. Truth right there.

So, utilize technology, don't let it use you. And that's what this movie is about. It's not just not the technology side of things, but more than anything, love yourself. If you love yourself, you can love others. Believe in yourself, then others will believe in you.

It's so important too that it is for kids, cuz that's where that's where it's starting. I mean, the problem is like social media, you guys are, you know, you're getting on your phones and everybody has to be perfect. You have to use apps to perfect yourself. Like, why? You know what I mean? And like, we're all guilty of it. I'm, you know, everyone's guilty of doing it.

Except me. I don't know how to use any of that to be honest with you. I say that we're so connected that we're disconnected right now. And for adults out there, you know, we can make an educated decision on what we want to do in our lives, but as kids, if you're introduced to this and this is all you know, well, then guess what? You're going to take so many pictures that you're going to miss the big picture. That's the thing. And that's life, by the way, kids. It should be. It's about experience.

And that's also just you as an artist and as a person, what I love about you is that you celebrate life. Your music you want to party, you want to dance, you want to have a good time, you want to go on a beach vacation. Like, what are you What are you jamming to? What are you jamming to? You're jamming to Pitbull. Always. That's right. Because there's no one else like you in the world.

I appreciate it. That's true. That's an honor and thank you. But uh, that's literally how I live life. Every day above ground is a great day. I say cuz it's the truth. And if you put on some, you know, some September Earth, Wind and Fire and watch out.
