Lyndon Smith

Hey, what's up? I'm Lyndon smith. I play agent ross on National Treasure Edge of history.

Jordan Rodriguez

Hey, I'm Jordan Rodriguez and I play Ethan chow on National Treasure Edge of History.

Jake Austin Walker

What's up? I'm jake austin walker. I play liam sandusky. And we are at the park in santa Monica with young Hollywood and we're about to play what's in the box challenge?

Young Hollywood

What's up? Young Hollywood today? We're with the Disney Plus cast of National Treasure Edge of History. Are you guys feeling good? Are you so excited about this box situation?

Lyndon Smith

A little nervous because I'm not really sure what are the rules of what can and cannot be put in there, but we didn't, there was no way for me a life in your hands.

Young Hollywood

No, it's fine. We're not going to damage your hands too much. Okay. It'll be fine. Okay. So, but you're in the show on Disney Plus, have you each be honest, watched it all the way through once. It was out to everybody.

Jake Austin Walker

Oh, I haven't watched seven. Um, so eight just came out last night.

Young Hollywood

And you haven't watched +89, 10 yet?

Jake Austin Walker

Yeah, I'm a few behind.

Jordan Rodriguez

A few behind. I think I've seen up to six. Yeah,

Lyndon Smith

No, I've watched all your right with everybody else. I was in all of it, which was weird to watch it all all over again because there's so much stuff I forgot.

Jake Austin Walker

I don't know. You just fast forward to your scenes. That's not what everyone does know.

Lyndon Smith

I have watched it all. I have watched it all and I guess around this time, all of it will be out. Right?

Young Hollywood

Yeah, you can spoil anything you want. Okay. Yeah, it's pretty good. It's pretty good. You guys are all there which is crazy.

Jake Austin Walker

Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, it's really really, really good. Yeah, that one dude though, God, this character is so good. I think liam was like, oh

Young Hollywood

So what do you actually remember from the casting process for each of you? Was there like a crazy story or anything? And then versus meeting everybody on set?

Lyndon Smith

Mm I remember it was a little peculiar peculiar peculiar for me because it was a really long process like I auditioned for and didn't hear about it for months so I kind of just let it go out of my mind and then it came back around. So that was kind of strange living in covid time. So everything was self tape and then even the chemistry reads with lisette were over zoom. I think I did about two chemistry reads over zoom and then they finally we got us in the same room and we did the final callback. Um and yeah, that kind of spanned out like a month or two. Yeah, it was quite a long process.

Jordan Rodriguez

Yeah, yeah, Jordan. I kind of shared a similar experience. It was so many self tapes and then it was like one of my first for you guys that don't know, it used to be the process was you went in, you did the audition with the casting director and then after that you maybe saw a producer in the room and then it was a producer and the writer and the director and there was always like these different steps and it was kind of crazy because it was my first zoom call back, which I had never done. So you're setting up your backdrop and you're sitting at the computer, you're just in like a lobby screen, basically the castings, like we'll see you soon and you're just like stand there like dope, dope, dope, dope dope and you're just kind of waiting and waiting and then they finally pop on and yeah, that was more nerve racking for me than like going into an audition had been in so long and we hadn't gone in like two years and that was the first time going into the chemistry read. It was the first time I've been inside an audition room in so long, but it was like kind of shaky and you're like holding your script and just rattling your hands. Yeah, I mean, yeah, it's kind of nuts actually, no, I think about how nervous and freaked out I was at the time, but it works.

Jake Austin Walker

There's nothing scarier than when they entered the room. I'm about to be on the screen, but it's like the longest I sound auditioning and seeing yourself while you're auditioning is weird because in the room you don't see like a video of yourself, you didn't hide that box. I didn't know you could figuring it out and then you just gotta, that's the main thing I want to do.

Young Hollywood

You are you similar to your characters at all? Would you be the FBI your music guy down there?

Jake Austin Walker

He's definitely a music guy. Yeah. Yeah, I mean there's definitely some, some things that were easier with liam than than most. But yeah, I'd say I'm pretty, I'm pretty similar. Um I feel like liam a little bit more stoic than I am. I feel like I'm like very much a dork at heart and I think he always plays it a lot cooler than I ever would. But yeah, especially the music aspect of it, which I still feel so lucky and the soundtrack is out now, which is crazy by the way. Just that little plug. It's like we just found out that the soundtrack is completely completely out now. So that was really cool. But yeah, as far as far as that goes, I'd say I'd say so.

Lyndon Smith

I'm very much like agent ross. I'm so like logic brained and detail oriented and type a like I totally understood her on this page. I was like, oh yeah, that's me with a gun. A gun. Exactly.

Jordan Rodriguez

What are you liking? No, yeah Ethan's little type a I don't think I'm fully Taipei. He's a bit more go with the flow and he's just, he's an academic, He loves, you know, he's starting to be a lawyer. I don't think I could never be a later. Yeah, he's a lot smarter than me and just a bit more on the ball than I am.

Young Hollywood

Evil renegade in the show. Obviously you're going for puzzles, going for the ultimate treasure. What is one thing in your life that you would go through all the obstacles that just did and the rest of the cast in your life. What is the one thing you'd go for? No matter what? What's the one thing that would make it all worth it? What's our personal treasure at the end of it?

Lyndon Smith

Oh, that's beautiful. That's got me thinking I want to give like a really lovely family poignant answer, but I'm also like the hope diamond material objects. Yeah. Trying not to sound like that would make it worth it. Mm You got us thinking wait till you do the challenge.

Jake Austin Walker

I man, I honestly think, I mean as funny as it sounds, it's like to make a I'd do anything to try to make a special moment my friend, like my friends, like I'm going on this trip or it's gonna be my birthday or something like that. I think I'd go through a lot to get there. I think that it's definitely, especially my older years. I don't know if that's like the perfect answer. If there is a perfect answer, but I've been treasuring time with people I care about a lot. So I think that's the most important. So I'd probably be going through something to get to someone I care about. That would probably be my thing at this point in my life.

Jordan Rodriguez

Yeah, I think it's similarly, it's like what I treasure about life is just like those moments, just precious moments that don't always happen and trying to, you know, the journey of getting there. We just came back from christmas holidays and I spent a lot of time in Malaysia with my extended family and it was just every day was like, so I just knew how precious each day was with them. And yeah, I think it's very similar to what jake said. Just precious moments now. Gotcha. You back them. Really?

Jake Austin Walker

I mean what Sandusky says that on our show, the most precious thing is time.

Lyndon Smith

Oh yeah, it does, doesn't it? Yeah. Time is worth. Exactly.

Young Hollywood

Okay. You ready for what's in the back? We've been waiting. You know, you've been very excited. Okay, so just for context. Everybody watching the box challenge so we will have 45 seconds for each of them to guess what item is in the box. They don't know the objects, confirm. You don't know, don't know, we're not gonna be acting. They don't know the objects and when you're rotating. No peeking. Okay, we went over the rules. No cheating. For sure. Okay. Okay, okay, now Lyndon and you can look because Jordan's going, we can look at it. Oh man buddy, I'm sorry. So you can get hit and you can lie to him. It's not living well in some, you know, I don't think that's living. It's not

Jordan Rodriguez

Yeah. Yeah, I I should have been more specific. It's a fake, yeah, it's not actually really okay. It's a beautiful, that's that's a tough one man. You got the succulent could be next. I'm not really sure you're not sure what it is. Is it in? Okay. Yeah. You're not inspiring a lot of confidence. Do you guys know what it is? It's um well you know it's things there's that's definitely gonna need sanitizer. Yeah, it's jiggling, jiggling c now that might be alive. You know my favorite, what do you have to guess? I mean it feels like spanish moss, spanish moss. It feels like spanish moss. I'm from florida. We have a lot of spanish moss? It feels like moss. I don't know, it kind of kind of, I mean like I have no idea what that means. The origin. Yeah, I closed it. Is that this is not spanish moss but sorry, it's really had me there. I thought it was a natural, okay, the timer has started. No, Oh that's a good one. Nothing being jealous of yours.

National Treasure

It's also going to be a little jiggly, Maybe jake's actually vegan, There's a consistency there dark, there's a consistency there. These are those little uh the little candy ring things, right? But like how would you know, that's candy, huh? Cause it smells like what I mean? Yeah. What flavor is there? Either the fingers? I think that the yellow and pink ones, are there? The yellow and pink ones kind of, are they the green and white ones no colder, definitely got it. Wait, no one wants these candies after this. Right? He got the candy. I don't know, it's pink and this is what I thought it was. You guys like, yeah, I love candy. You're all, you have to share to share that Lyndon just went in his fingers. I wash my hands. Okay. There's more backup. Okay, ready. You guys are really, really good at this game. So next time you come into definitely a snake because it's insane how good you are. You almost guess the color to make it look. I know my ring shaped candies. Okay, we're good. Okay. Oh wow. Wait, it's like, yeah, Oh, I know this. I do a lot of cleaning in the house, wow. Dude, you're gonna have like, right there it matches buddy, can I take this as well? Yeah, that's the part. We don't have that. Okay. It's okay. It seems that you guys are so good at this game. This will be hard. Oh, this is, you're gonna have to reach in there because they're a little further back actually, so. Okay, I didn't say anything. Okay. Okay. Wait, it's prickly. It's smaller as it goes higher. Is it a, is it a, is it a christmas tree? Oh wow, no, no, no, no christmas christmas tree into the sink thing. Yeah. Yeah. That's crazy actually. Really spot brush. Yeah, I'm going christmas tree decoration. Final answer. I mean, I guess no, don't be mad that I got that very glittery glitter and glitter. Okay. Yes. Okay. Here we go. Here we go. There's no way he gets that. There's just no way. It's a bowl of spaghetti. Okay, don't look too far over the box. Look directly down. Okay. Right. No, there's not a chance. Now you're becoming the box. Okay. This is like a jaguar statue. Oh, is it specifically a jaguar? Not, not even a jaguar. Yeah, I did. Because it's like if you're gonna put an animal in your house, it's either an elephant or a jaguar, people rarely get everybody. It's, it's, it's just like it felt so, you know, once we got to the head, I was like, oh dude, jaguar 100% no, no, no, no, can I take this? He knows his way around the jaguar. Yeah, I love the zoo. This is, yeah, that's great having you next time do the backfield in the lion's cage then. I'm so sorry. I packed. You know, I tried to do everything that was really astounding? They claim it cheap, but I feel like I didn't, I didn't know anything. I swear that blanket was a solid cover up, like really good treasure hunters, They casted you perfectly. This is actually part of the audition process, Your guys chemistry is great jaguars, wow, this guy's good. What ultimately did you learn the most about yourself from the whole process of filming? You really came up with the singer's back take up time. I think that that's just how the therapy session. Yeah, I think that self doubt is a disease. I'm serious. That's an inspirational calendar. No, no, no, no, but it's true. The one thing, the one thing about the show that it really taught me is taking on the mantle of something you care about uh in general, in any art form or any form when you really care about something self doubt, it's gonna be the first thing that comes into your head and uh and this show really taught me how to kind of overcome that and trust your instincts and trust your gut. And that was one thing this show, more than a lot of projects have been lucky to be part of really taught me. Yeah, the jaguar inspired me that fierceness. Oh man, I think uh what was interesting about shooting this show for me was we're getting the scripts as we were shooting. So we were kind of like figuring out the clues and riddles and everything. Um and there's so many ways the show could have gone and I don't know, it was we really cared about where the show was going and where the story and the clues and treasure was heading. So I don't know, I've never dived so deep into just like you know, trying to figure out for myself or like we were all just on set trying to figure out what the next step was and it did really feel like a bonding experience, but we're also like, you know, collaborating as a group as well and making sure that our chemistry was like amazing. So my answer is a little bit all over the place. But I think I love the collaboration aspect of this. I think for me, I guess because we didn't really know where this was ultimately gonna go. It was kind of an exercise and just staying very present in the moment because we didn't really know where our characters were going to be in the next episode. And so sometimes you kind of want to pre plan your route in a story if you know too much in advance and because we really were kind of doing it in real time, I'm just focusing on alright, make this scene and this day like what it is and don't try to marry it to something that might happen in the future. So kind of an exercise and just staying present on that day. It kind of ties back in time to friendship.
