Griffin Johnson & Samantha Boscarino Talk Golf, Hair, & Diamond in the Rough

How's it going guys?

I'm good. I'm good. How are you?

You guys are movie stars.

Oh, thank you.

Come on. Come on. Griffin, last time I talked to you, you were in Bel-Air in the house with the dog.

Yeah. Good times. Good times.

And now you guys, Diamond in the Ruff. How was that whole experience for you guys? Meeting each other, all that good stuff?

It was so much fun. It was kind of a whirlwind. Um, we we met like a few days before we started shooting, and so we kind of got straight into it, and, um, and yeah, we shot the movie in like 17 days. So it was a very fun, filled, exciting time. But, um, I think it turned out really great, and I'm excited for the fans to see it.

17 days?

17. That is true.

How many hours were you on set like per day, do you think?

Oh my gosh, like 14 hours.

Yeah. I would say the average was at least 12.

Yeah. I was gonna say if you're if you're shooting a movie in 17 days, you have to be there for like 12 hours a day at least.

Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, we we really put it in, but but we got there in the end.

So CreatorPlus is kind of they want to make social stars movie stars. So do you guys want to be movie stars? Is that like the goal, like actress and actress for the rest of your life or?

Well, I would say Sam Sam is the queen of acting. Uh, and and I would say for myself, you know, CreatorPlus uh it's just it's just up-to-date. I think, um, with a lot of the streaming platforms and, you know, traditional, you know, ways of watching film, uh everyone's seen that from their stocks alone that they've been struggling. So, um, I think that, you know, CreatorPlus is allowing people to, uh, you know, connect with creators in a deeper way than just, you know, 15-second videos or a 10-minute video on YouTube. Um, and it it it's a super culturally aware and authentic brand that's, you know, allowing people just to connect in a deeper way, Um, and, you know, and bring film and, you know, long-form content to audiences that, you know, are looking for that from their favorite creators. So, Um, I think it's super interesting, it's super fun, and, you know, people are going to enjoy uh a new experience with film that's never really been done before.

And they're gonna look at you in a different perspective too because it's more than just like short-form videos.

Exactly. It's super fun.

Do you guys think that you'd be friends with your characters in real life?

Yeah, I think so. I feel like Ariana would like maybe intimidate me a little bit. Um, but I think eventually we would be able to bond and connect and yeah, I think she's a very she's like, I I always felt like she was like a version of myself that I like wanted to be, you know? So it was fun able to act out some of those scenarios and be like, yeah, like she's she's a very empowered woman.

Yeah. Yeah, I think Jason for me, uh, would be like a younger brother almost. Like, I'm kind of now I'd be like his mentor. Like, uh, you know, a younger version of of Griffin in a way that it's like I know what you need to do. Let me guide you, and I'll be your mentor.

I see the hair. It's gotta go.

Yeah, the first thing.

I was gonna say, Griffin, did you watch it back? Did you see your hair?

You know, we've we've made it a fun thing at this point. Um, you know, the hair was is is it's interesting. It's it's character. Uh, you know, it adds another layer to the film for people to talk about. So, you know, I'm cool with it. You know, if you can see my hair now, it's grown back out. So hair grows. Um, you know, it's it's cool, you know. I was channeling my inner Ellen DeGeneres vibes, and I feel like I really crushed it.

Absolutely.

I love it because we were watching it last night, me and my roommate, and every like different scene, there was like a different angle to your hair.

Of course. It's the wind. It's gonna be everyone's gonna love it. Yeah, you gotta account for wind adjustment, you know, the gel after a 12-hour day doesn't stick as well. You know, there's a lot of variables when it comes to having hair that is so perfect like it is in the film.

And how would you rate Sam, how would you rate Griffin's golfing skills? One out of 10. Because he's an avid golfer.

Oh, I mean, from what I saw, I would I would feel like I could confidently say a 10. I mean, I don't know. The only scene, um, he actually golfed in that we were together was when you were just like putting it, uh, in like what was it, like after a shift or something, where we were with the golf cart, and so Yeah. He was actually very precise with that cuz like it didn't need to make it in, but on a few of them, they just like went in, and I was like, okay. Yeah. I was like, okay. Fair. Fair. Um, but yeah, he yeah. I know he's an avid golfer. He he made sure I knew that, and so I I got some good good inspiration from him.

Griffin, did you give her any lessons? Because Sam, you actually golfed.

You know, we had someone on set that was helping them. I might have thrown in a few pointers there, but it was mostly just me showing off and like, ah, look at me. I can golf.

Feel that. Cuz I was one of the cuz like obviously Diamond in the Ruff came out like when it first like the world first found out about it. We're like, Griffin literally golfs like every other day, so like this will be great for everybody involved. So.

Well, you know, it was a little more serious than golf with the boys that I'm that I'm used to. Uh, you know, but we we like to we like to golf out here.

Okay, so we're gonna do a little game. So we're doing a themed to golf, so it's either a hole-in-one or a hazard. So basically, it's like good or bad. It's gonna be a scenario, and if it's good, you'll say hole-in-one. If it's bad, it's a hazard. Okay. So, your first impression of each other after meeting in person. Hole-in-one or a hazard?

A hole-in-one.

Oh, I thought we were gonna answer at the same time. Like, whole

Hole-in-one.

Yeah, they're insane. What was it like? Did you meet? So you met on set or?

No, we met we first met via Table Read Zoom, and then in person we met at the CreatorPlus offices.

Oh, gotcha. Okay, so you met in the offices then. Do you remember the first thing you said to each other besides like hi?

No, I think because of COVID, we had like our masks on. So Yeah, so yeah. A nice little blank, like a nice head.

No, the first thing I remember was sitting down at the at a table and she was like going over the scenes with me, and we were talking about it. But I don't remember how we first initiated.

Yeah, I don't remember.

Hole-in-one or a hazard to Griffin's dancing in the movie?

Hazard.

Yeah. I have to say hazard.

Hazard. I'm sorry. How long did it take to film the bar scene?

I think a couple hours.

No, I think it was longer than that. Cuz we had to

Yeah, like the drinking sequence and then the dance sequence.

Yeah, it might have been like four hours.

Oh gosh, I don't even know.

Was it? Well, Sam, you've been in it. So like for scenes, and like, Griffin, like, were you kind of like, oh, yeah, like, we're gonna be doing this scene for like four hours, kind of thing as Griffin, like this is your first like it's a movie, you know? So, Sam, were you kind of like giving him not pointers, but like kind of talking through it or?

I mean, not really. I feel like if anyone, our director, Janette, like she was a very good leader and guide and kind of, um, walked us us both through different sequences. However, you know, every set is different, and every scene is different. So you don't always know what what to expect. So she was a good a good leader for us.

Yeah. Janette's the best. She was great at that.

And Griffin, you produced, right? Or did you both produce?

Yeah. Yep, yep.

Crazy, your first added and you're a producer.

Yeah, it was super fun. You know, I I think, you know, with the way that CreatorPlus, I kind of said the way that they're, you know, developing their platform, um, you know, creating that authenticity and like being able to harness like all of the content and culture and everything that's going into the world right now. Um, you know, it it helps to have someone, you know, tapped in. And luckily, I was able, I think, to help uh provide some of that insight for them. So, you know, producer can mean a lot of things, and for me, it was it it was it was uh interesting and like a great learning curve and just fun to see how people see film from the other side, uh, and content from the other side, because I'm used to, you know, doing it all myself on a phone.

Hole-in-one or a hazard when men fish?

Hole-in-one. I mean, doing fish. Doesn't get any better.

That was more of a Sam, see what Sam thought about that situation.

I mean, I have nothing against it, so I guess a hole-in-one.

No, she likes it. She likes it. I want to go fishing. Like, I yeah, I I next time I'm in Miami, I'm coming. Yep. Hole-in-one or hazard the kissing scene? Which one?

Yeah, which one? Kissing scenes period. Depends who it is. That was a whole-in-one.

In this case, it was it was a whole-in-one. Whole-in-one. Yeah, it wasn't it was it wasn't awkward, and, uh, you know, we figured it out, so it has to be a hole-in-one. Yeah, we got there in the end.

Uh, hole-in-one or hazard. Facetime calls. So you guys pick them up. Do you not pick them up? What's the vibe?

Hole-in-one for me.

I'm I'm a hazard for that. I it really depends who it is, and there's some people who like just will catch you off guard, and you're like, no. I also hate like looking at I hate seeing myself on the call. I just I'd rather I'd rather be on a phone.

Yep. I get that.

Oh. Whole-in-one. I'd do it again. I'd absolutely, yeah. I love it.
