About this video

Aside from just being a fantastic show, Netflix's "Ginny & Georgia" is also responsible for introducing us to a slew of new and emerging young talents. One of these is Diesel La Torraca, who comes to us all the way from Australia to play Austin Miller, Georgia's son and Ginny's half-brother, and Season 2 of the series is giving him way more time to shine! Young Hollywood sits down with the tween star for a chat and a good old-fashioned candy haul! In between bites of spicy jelly beans and some of the most sour candy he's ever encountered, Diesel talks to us about the biggest differences between filming Season 1 and Season 2, his favorite inside jokes with his co-stars, and whether or not the show has set up any expectations for him when it comes to attending high school in the future. He also contemplates guest star roles for the likes of Zac Efron and Zendaya, plus stick around for a lively game of Beanboozled! "Ginny & Georgia" Season 2 is now streaming on Netflix.

Diesel

Hi, guys. My name is Diesel. Laura and I play Austin in Netflix's Ginny and Georgia. I am here with young Hollywood today to do something really exciting that I don't know yet. So Let's go check it out.

Young Hollywood

What is up? Young Hollywood. Today we have a very special guest. Do you still listen? Hollywood? How How are you feeling? I am excited for ok, me and you will go way back to, like, two weeks ago or three weeks ago. Like way, way back in December, December, something December catch steak hung out there a little bit. The first I don't know. Was it the first. I think it was the Thursday. I don't know, I I have no idea. But it was for the Ginny and Georgia like Season two launch party. That was before it came out to the world. And now Ginny and Georgia, Season two is out to the world. How do you feel?

Diesel

um I feel really excited about it. And all of the fans reaction to it. It's been really amazing. And they've been saying they really like it. Um, and a a bunch of people are saying they want a season three. So hopefully hopefully you don't. Season three. We never know, though. We never know. But the stats you're, like, bigger than, like stranger things. Yeah, we reached, like, 100 and 80 million hours viewed a few days after it released. Which is, like Mind blowing like, yeah, which is, like, millions of people just watched it. Like, that's just psycho. um but yeah, it's been really the release is really kicked off.

Young Hollywood

Were you one of the thousands of millions of people that watched once it came out officially?

Diesel

Uh, if you watched it, I mean, I watched it, uh, before because we got early access to it in, like, November October. I, uh, and I watched it. Then and I I really, really loved it. I prefer it to the first season. I mean, the first season is amazing. But this one is just It's a lot more exciting and a lot more with the plot and the storylines. We cover a lot more this season, so it was amazing.

Young Hollywood

Uh, we love it. We're gonna talk more about Jenny and Georgia in the premiere, and everything that you do is awesome in the show. But first, this blue bag, this this blue bag, do you know, in the blue bag It looks like candy. It might make it Looks like it.

Diesel

I can confirm it's candy.

Young Hollywood

Oh, OK. Ok, so we're gonna do a little candy haul. Are you so excited?

Diesel

Very.

Young Hollywood

Is this all American?

Diesel

This is all American. So it's all American yet because you're all from Australia, So it's very different. Yes. OK. Ready? Hm. We can plot them together. The first one we have. is They're kind of like sour and hot. So you get, like, really put to the T. So you spill all the tea about the season. So it's spicy.

Diesel

Yeah. These ones are spicy. So these are cinnamon gummy, gummy bears or jelly beans. Jelly candy? Yeah.

Young Hollywood

Do you like spicy candy?

Diesel

I've never had spicy candy.

Young Hollywood

OK, Next. These are whistle candy. So apparently you're supposed to make music. How do you make music with that? We're gonna find out. Are these called Smarties? And they look like Smarties. It's giving Smartie, but you're apparently supposed to make music with them. And you have to be three plus, so we're good. We're so we're so good. Ok. Have you been to Trader Joe's here?

Diesel

Yes, a few times.

Young Hollywood

These are really good. You're gonna try them. OK, I'm pop rocks.

Diesel

Yes. Um, we have those in Australia, but they may be different. They might taste different because of the ingredients in the countries and stuff. Um, but they're gonna pop it all in your mouth. It's gonna be very flavoured. Cherry,

Young Hollywood

OK, this not really sure. But the friend that I went shopping with to get all this candy said these would be really good, and they they basically, like, fit in your mouth. What are they called? They're, like, kind of like pop rocks. OK, then we have sour smog balls from toxic waste. They're gonna be great.

Diesel

Oh, they're gonna be so good. Are they gonna, like die? Are they gonna be poisoned by they're gonna rush you to the hospital after this. That's what's going on. Have you ever had the

Young Hollywood

No. OK, this is a big American thing. Yeah, like, if you ask any of your friends like here that are like, Oh, have you had fun, they'd be like, Yeah, I love fun. Dip very big in that. So it's you basically take a stick. This is there's a stick and you dip it in sugar and you eat it or you Look it. Wow. So amazing. Mind blown, right? These are really, really sour. These are warheads. I've had them before, but I haven't had the extreme sour ones. You're gonna Eyes are gonna water and then being have you ever had that? I love it, but we really could have just done the entire segment face off of this, but No, we're gonna try it. You're gonna try it. So, what are we starting with? Whatever you want. What do you wanna try with or try first,

Diesel

I think the first one you showed me, I think this is the first one you showed me. Ok, um, try and I don't know how, like, spicy I thought they're gonna be gonna rip it. Oh, there you go. A little haul cinnamon. How do you It's C c do you like? OK? It's not too hot. It's cinnamon. Ok, Not too hot yet. Not hot at all. It's getting a little spicy. Ok. Mhm. a little bit. How is it now? Getting spicier? Tongue's starting to burn on the sides a little bit. Tell us when it's reached the centre. oh, you're good. Oh. Oh, wow. I mean, I like spicy things. Um, I'm Italian, so we kind of put chilies and everything. A lot of things. It's sweet. And, spicy. Uh, it's weird. My my taste buds are very confused right now. Um, I don't know how to feel. What would you rate it out of 10

Young Hollywood

6. 5 to 7?

Diesel

OK, It's not your favourite, but we have so much. But I mean, I like the smell of them. And the aftertaste is very cinnamon. And I love it. Really good. Yes.

Young Hollywood

OK, what was the biggest difference for you filming season one of Ginny and Georgia and Season two.

Diesel

The filming process? Probably. The different crew and stuff getting to meet even more people. Because between season one and two, it was such a long time and stuff. A lot of the crew was different. We also have like, different directors for every episode and stuff. So meeting a lot of new people and a lot of the new crew was great. And that was really fun. I love meeting new people. I'm very talkative. So yeah,

Young Hollywood

we love diesel for that. OK, what's next? I'm gonna open up and try. Hm. You can always grab more if you wanna eat more. I'm feeling OK. Make music. I don't know how you do go into it. I'm a bro. Wait. Oh, should we make a song? Ok, what's a inside joke between you and Tony? or one of the girls? Katie. Chelsea. Sarah,

Diesel

Um, what do you love about Sarah? Who is like one of my best friends in the whole entire world? She's amazing. I love her. Um, I love her. I love her. Um, We did this thing in season one where I'm doing, like, the postcards to my dad where I do the star of the wait thing. My dad's in jail, um, and she comes over to see Jenny to, like, go to the movies and stuff. And that's the whole storyline about that episode. And She comes in and she does this little thing with my hands and stuff. And she does that. That's our like, new handshake. Now, whenever we see each other in real life and stuff, we're just like um but yeah, that's really funny.

Young Hollywood

Well, I saw the one tiktok you made with her. I think it was. Or when you guys were at a dinner, they were like, Yeah, the, um when you talk about season two that we gonna binge it and stuff Yeah, yeah, yeah You're big on tiktok Tiktok Jenine Georgia on tiktok Just boom love that. I love that. Is it? The circle You gather them. OK? Which I feel like I feel like green. is gonna be like the most toxic. I don't know. OK, let's see. What does it like? Nothing like nothing. I can just smell the previous candy on my fingers like and e Oh, my. Oh! Usually it takes a while. Was that unexpected? Was it unexpected? Your eye is going on, How long does this last for

Diesel

The entire time. Oh, my God. You should eat more to digest that one. Mm mm. Wow. And usually it, like, takes a while. You put it on your tongue, and then it kind of like these. But like as straight as I put that on my tongue, it just burnt. What would you rate? Should I Are you going in for another one? Should I try to like it? I'm gonna drive. Every time, every time Oh, my God!

Young Hollywood

Yeah. Are your Are your eyes watering?

Diesel

Yep. Yep.

Young Hollywood

Would now be a good time to ask? Good, juicy question. say it! Oh, my God! What if you did the whole bottle?

Diesel

Maybe a different time. I would, like, have a heart attack or something.

Young Hollywood

Would you rate those a 10 out of 10, then? you like the challenge. That's a fun experience. Yeah. OK, if you were watching the show as a fan, I asked Katie and Chelsea this on Zoom because it's so fun. Would you want Jenny with Hunter or Marcus?

Diesel

I mean, I know the fans like Marcus a lot. So I would say, Marcus, you really

Young Hollywood

You would agree with the fans? Same. I like better together. Yeah, if When. OK, so in season one, it was a huge thing about Marcus's Snapchat that he did like the video that he took and said to Jenny and Sam. Did you see them record that?

Diesel

no, I didn't.

Guest

But I I it doesn't even look like a real Snapchat like I feel like it's like they just filmed him saying Friday, Friday, happy Friday and just, like, edited all of the stuff in in the philtre like it doesn't even look like that. So I think that he they just had him just film on on like the they had put the camera there, and he was like pretending to hold it Friday. Happy Friday, Jenny. It's Friday. I didn't even think it was a real Snapchat, do you?

Young Hollywood

When you're watching, obviously, Ginny and Georgia is like a whole different experience. Like people do relate to them And like each story line of the characters, including yours. But do you You haven't been in high school yet? Obviously. No. Does Ginny and Georgia for you set up any expectations for high school? Or do you think it's gonna be completely opposite?

Guest

And when they're like rhyming the holes and stuff like, I kind of recently started middle school. So it's kind of a whole different class for every, uh, subject and stuff. and it's like when they're walking through the halls and stuff talking and stuff and there's like just they can freely walk. It's like crowds and crowds of people just rushing to the next class in reality. And it's like how I like. I wish that was really cool. Like, I wish I could just calmly walk to my next next class without being like bombarded by a stampede of people just like, Oh, my God. Some parts, I hope not. Sometimes I do kind of hope that might be what high school was like. Yeah, but I doubt it. No, I think it might be only for the seventh. And I go, I don't know. I have no idea. No, we get one day. I'll just bring my bag around everywhere with me.

Young Hollywood

OK, because as I say, you you have pictures in your locker, but you don't have a lock, so we we'll send you something OK, what do you we have We have to go for these because these are more, uh, like those toxic waste. Always is supposed to be like, Oh, my God. Like, can handle it. Like I feel like toxic waste would be absolutely disgusting. Like it's probably the best. Can you ever Oh, OK. They look like Have you had lemon heads? The colour ones?

Guest

No, I don't think so.

Young Hollywood

Well, speaking of lemons, I'm gonna have the yellow one, OK? Let's see. I don't know if they're Are they chewy? No sour. Not yet. Good. Sure. This isn't like a bamboozle? Because I'm getting rotten fish? No way.

Guest

A little bit. Oh my God, You get the drop. Uh, like a spike of it just like right down to my throat. Oh my God. No, it's OK. Because that was all your experience. Yes. It's like a part of it is stuck in my back tooth. And I was like, still, like, save some Oh, my God. Yum.

Young Hollywood

if you could add anybody to the Ginny and Georgia cast, who would it be?

Guest

I would probably say I mean, I would want someone pretty famous because it would be like a pretty exciting cameo. maybe, Like A small little hole monitor for the high school. Like a principle. Not even a principal, but someone that just monitors the whole of the school.

Young Hollywood

Wait, Do they have a principle yet? I don't think I don't think I haven't seen principal May. Maybe we could make like, We can make a Maybe we can make, like Zac Efron or something. This girlfriend he's He's just like giving out tickets to eating tickets for the kids in the hall. I mean, you fun. Um, the possibilities for endless was that for you. And you went with the home on it. like you could have literally said like Zen and you said

Guest

No, I just imagine Zen, just like, go home on and OK, now we're gonna try these. These are just wholesome. These are good. So these these weren't like kill me.

Young Hollywood

They're not gonna kill you. That's if you trust me. I'm just kidding. Those are really good. What? Tell me. Cheers. Oh, I can't do that off. really chewy, though they're good. Tastes like a watermelon.

Guest

Yeah, I think you have a little bit of warhead still in there. I think I do. Making them. So, um, yeah. I mean, it's a gummy like you can make gummies. You said no more. Um, I wanna save the of the last because that's gonna be really fun. Um, have you played before?

Young Hollywood

Yes, I remember my sister's 12th or something. Birthday. She got one for my friends, and we just played it. And I got, like, a vomit one or something. When you're not being a star of Jenny and Jordan and all your other acting stuff, what do you like to do? What do people wanna know about you?

Guest

Um, a little bit of a gamer. I have a Nintendo switch. Oh, I play games on my computer. Um, I go to school. And just as a normal kid, I like to cook.

Young Hollywood

You cook a little bit,

Guest

like with my dad and stuff. If he's like making something that helps shape the meatballs or something, like as an Italian like he's always cooking pasta and meatballs and scala and risotto and everything, um, so, like, I can help him cook sometimes and even my mom's in the kitchen doing something I can kind of look at her and, like, see what's happening. And I have, like, I think I can make a good meatball if I had to. Like, just from all the memories I have, I do quite like cooking.

Young Hollywood

Wait. So besides Jenny and Georgia, what is a really big acting role that you want? Like, what would a goal be?

Guest

Marvel. Probably that would be iconic. I know that would be insane.

Young Hollywood

Do you wanna be the superhero or like the villain?

Guest

Um, like the main like the main character moment? Not necessarily. I just, like, wanna be I wanna have a main character moment. That would be amazing. but like just being a marvel like I love it. I love Marvel.

Young Hollywood

What's your favourite Marvel Movie, Marvel Movie or Marvel character movie character?

Guest

But it might be their character, I would say. either age of Ultron or, Avengers Endgame or Infinity War but I would say age of Ultron, like a lot of people hate it. But I'm like, No, that's amazing. That's amazing.

Young Hollywood

You're gonna be a marvel one day when you're like, 20 when you're 18. Hopefully, that's only in, like, eight years. Just a couple slight eight. Yeah, OK, ready for be? I'm not telling you what colour is what you just have to take. Oh, my God. Because I know the colour. She Oh, my God. So how about it? But there's still a chance that it can be absolutely disgusting, right? Like like the cappuccino. One could be cappuccino and dog poop, cappuccino or liver and onions. And that's what that is. Did you assume cappuccino because it was dark?

Guest

Yeah. Yeah.

Young Hollywood

OK, well, and like the white spectrum, it could be like the thing at the top that they do. Yes. OK, I'm scared. I'm so scared, Is it is it liver and onion? No, no, no. Oh, my God. I need a good one. too. I like riding, Clear out the mouth, the flavours in your mouth. This is either toothpaste or very blue, but toothpaste is good. Do you ever technically eat? I mean, toothpaste isn't good. It's OK. Like I wouldn't eat it covered for that. Yeah. Two face very blue, very blue. You're not cringing. Liver and onions. I mean, I don't really know what a berry blue would taste like. I think it's that, though. Cos you don't know I mean, it's not revolting fun. I'm not buying this love this game. This game is set out. I'm done. Um, yeah, OK, we go. Fine. OK, See, I can still taste that in my mouth. I'm actually not sure if it's or not, but it's something something. It's like bad breath. Like No-one in the world has had worse breath than this. OK, well, how would you rate the game? How would you rate the candy hall?

Guest

zero out of 10. 0 out of 10. Hate the candy. Hate you.

Young Hollywood

Thank you for coming on.

Guest

Am I being for real, though? 10 out of 10. Which was really fun. Canny. There's can's Candy's always answered everything I even know you put me through absolute torture. Amazing, Amazing.

Young Hollywood

Well, you saw. Of course. Thank you so much for watching this. Jolie had me absolutely bamboozled with all of this candy. Watch Jenny and Georgia on Netflix today.
