Young Hollywood

Hi guys. Hey. How's it going? Are you excited for season 3 to come out?

Disney Legends Corbin Bleu

So excited. I'm so excited to finally start seeing the fruits of our labor.

Young Hollywood

Right? You guys are kind of the OGs when it comes to this kind of stuff so did you each share any specific stories that we should know about when you guys are on set behind the scenes?

Disney Legends Corbin Bleu

I feel like we would. I mean, I I I feel like we would also reminisce with each other a lot. I feel like there's a lot of times that we were sort of standing on the sidelines and we would go like, this reminds me of the time when.

Disney Legends Corbin Bleu

Yeah. Yeah, we we would joke about things like the Disney Channel games from way back in the day and just like different promos that we done together. The the thing that I thought was really funny was a bunch of the cast members would come up to me later and they would say, you know, yesterday when we were shooting and it was you and Corbin, you guys were up on the stage and when we weren't shooting your side, like you guys were just doing your off camera dialogue, between takes, we would watch you guys and you were joking around and you were laughing and they were like, my 12-year-old self was having a freakout session because I'm watching these two people I grew up on and you guys are having so much fun like they just they couldn't wrap their brains around it. Um so it was it was fun to see how much they oddly enjoyed watching Corbin and I enjoy hanging out with each other again.

Young Hollywood

I mean, how could you not though? Like you guys are like, they really did grow up watching you. Like as I like as I did. So, like that's insane, like that's.

Disney Legends Corbin Bleu

And Corbin's the best. Like Corbin's the easiest guy to be around. He's literally, he's just so fun and warm and loving. The kids love him, I love him. It's it was perfect for the show.

Disney Legends Corbin Bleu

Yeah. Thank you, Jason. I love you so much, man. It's the same though. Truly, I I it it that it's so easy to be nice and to be joyful on a set when that's what's given to you. It's it's it's it's just a a circle of life there.

Young Hollywood

Yeah. Amazing. And what would you say is the biggest difference that when you guys would film back in the day versus now? Like maybe a set thing like maybe craft services were better this time around or just like a whole different like perspective? Like what was the biggest difference?

Disney Legends Corbin Bleu

I would just say the time frame of things were very, very different. Um when I think back to the movies, just how much time we had per uh musical number or even I would say for rehearsals. Uh, you know, our our rehearsal times that we we we before each movie would go through like almost like a boot camp of like two to three weeks of just being in the rehearsal studio going over every single routine over and over and over again, whereas, you know, not only because on a on a television shooting schedule is just different. Um, but because of COVID too, you know, there's just it's just it's just different time frame, different, you know, and the inner workings of it all is is completely different. So, uh, we would get two days to to to to rehearse a number. And the kids are so quick on it. And that's where I I I was going, I just I just get like the level of talent is just really elevated. Like across the board like number 10 on the call sheet could have their own show, they're so talented. It's it's really wild.

Disney Legends Corbin Bleu

I I think for me the biggest difference between old school Disney Channel and new school is the amount of pressures and responsibilities that the actors have now that they didn't really have before. Like when we did Hannah, we would do the show, we would do press a couple of times a year, you'd shoot some promos, you know, but that was really it. Now, you know, we're shooting High School Musical and and publicity is sending over like phones for them to record themselves and we got to upload to TikTok and you got to do, you know, all the social media stuff is just it's so big and that's such a big responsibility. And everything they say and do is out there for the world to see and to be scrutinized. You think Miley got a lot of attention for things she said and did back in the day before social media? Like it would have be a completely different story now uh and I don't know I genuinely don't know how they juggle all of those responsibilities now. It's it's it's

Disney Legends Corbin Bleu

And just just just to add to that and because it is so all consuming, uh it's so important and and I'm I'm so happy that just the topic of mental health is so much more discussed today. And and just down to even even when speaking to our our, you know, our our our actors, our talent, um, so many of them are so aware of that. They they they they actually practice things like meditation, they they practice self-awareness, they they have therapists, you know, that they actually it's like it's it's it's so it's so important that that mental health actually is put as a priority.

Young Hollywood

For sure. Well, congrats guys on, you know, season 3 and everything you've ever done. And thank you so much for talking to us.
