Bud Bundy Is Back

Hey, I'm Hollywood, it's Joe Wilderman here with David Faustino.

You remember him best as Bud Bundy on Married with Children, but now you have an exciting new venture and I want to start with the tagline, Nobody ever said it was easy.

Ah, being a short, broke, out of work, alcoholic, sex maniac, ex-child star.

So this sort of sums up your new web series, Starving.

It's an exaggeration, but tell us a little more about the web series.

It's a web series that we created out of sort of the frustrations of Hollywood.

And my partners and I wrote it based on, you know, being on Married with Children for all those years, and then the show ending and, you know, the 10 years in between.

Hi, I'm David Faustino, Bud Bundy, Married with Children.

This is what happens when I drink.

My money's gone, my mother's a midget, my wife left me for my neighbor, Julio.

Cornett and is also in the show.

He was on that show Parker Lewis Can't Lose.

He plays my best friend and in real life he's been one of my best friends since we were like 15 years old.

As bad off as I am, he's even worse.

So, it's both of us desperately trying to get our lives back on track.

You must get some interesting fan reactions.

What does everyone want to know?

What does everyone say to you?

Guys always want to know if I've slept with my sister.

That's one of them and I won't give you the answer now.

Uh, no comment on that.

And, uh, two, what's the other one?

You know, where's Al?

They always want to know where Al is.

And I always say, I don't know.

You have some guest star appearances in the show.

We have an episode where I do first real Married with Children family reunion that's ever been done.

But you, you were like my mother.

Yeah, I was like your mother.

I am not your mother.

You're going to have to take care of this yourself.

This is a job.

We have to act professionally.

I need a job.

I know you need a job, but you know you got a job, you're the pizza guy.

Must be proud of everyone.

I mean everyone's done so well.

Christina Applegate obviously having a great year and a sort of a tough year.

Have you offered some support to her with all of that?

I went out and visited her uh, not long after, you know, she found out and she's a survivor and she's down to play and have a good time and I'm I'm proud of her.

You know, it's kind of hard to describe in a nutshell, but what should everyone know about Starving?

It's a show that we really created close to our heart.

We said, whatever makes us laugh hard and out loud.

It's definitely over the top.

It's definitely risque.

It's definitely R-rated and uh, but I I think at the end of the day most people will be able to sit back and just have a good laugh.

You are now in the editing room.

This is the tedious process called editing.

This is my editor Brian Roberts.

It's a collaborative vision really.

I mean, we have our scripts, he cuts to the scripts, he might see something that we think is funnier or This scene you see here is uh, Seth Green and myself.

I confront him at uh, the set of Married with Children where we have a little showdown.

I'm playing Bud.

Listen, all in all honesty, you're not.

I mean this is my role that I did my whole life.

So I'm gonna have to go ahead and play that role, but we'll find, you know, we'll find something better than pizza guy, maybe.

Listen, I totally appreciate that and I understand the predicament that you're in.

This is not going to work for me, okay?

'Cause like this is my role that I built.

I know, and it's what's so weird is my entire life people have thought that I was Bud Bundy.

So this is sort of like coming full circle for me, finally getting to play it, but in the movie version.
