All right, guys, we are here with the cast of Yes, God, Yes. Did I do that good? Is it great? Okay. Uh, well, we are here in Austin, Texas. So, welcome. Have you guys ever been to South by before?

First time in Austin.

Oh, really? Have you have you guys tried the food here at all? The last time I was here, I was here two years ago and I drank so much wine and I ate so much brisket that I vowed that I would. The brisket is phenomenal. The brisket is phenomenal. The barbecue's great. Uh, they're known for the queso pecan pie and uh, breakfast tacos. So, like, I know it's the morning. So, if you still want to get the breakfast breakfast tacos, it's good. Yeah. Tacos in general. I'm a breakfast taco type of girl.

I've heard a lot of good things about Arlo's, which I'm dying to check out.

Okay. Torchy's is phenomenal. Also, you guys have like food trucks that don't move, which I'm really into. Right. What do you call them? How would you order them? Uh, I think they're they're just called restaurants on trucks. I'm also I'm also from LA, so I'm not from here. I've just done South by a bunch of times, so like I'm now I feel like a native, but I'm not. Anyways. It's not nice of you to bring up all these great breakfast spots. Are you guys starving?

Oh, sorry. No. It's very early and we're not able to just get up and go to these breakfast spots.

Well, right after this, you guys can go. All right, cool. So, what's going on right now? Your film. Let's talk about the film, Yes, God, Yes. Uh, how important was it to you guys to bring like the girl side of coming to the age? Like, it's a very, you know, unique story, I feel like, that we don't see often.

Yeah, that's I mean, that was kind of the whole thing behind aside from the writer, director Karen Maine is amazing. Her writing's incredible. But, I think I was always very important, but I think especially now we're paying attention to female stories. And I think this is one that hasn't really, you know, female sexuality and pleasure is not so much the focus of um most kind of coming of age right. Stories. So, it was yeah, it was really important to kind of make something that I I mean, I know I hadn't really seen anything like this growing up. And I think with this, um, you know, it wasn't going for laughs per se. It was just going for kind of the truth. And with that, there is a lot of humor because there's awkwardness and curiosity and and uh, you know, you know, just trying things out. And uh, so I think it really just dealt with it in a very very truthful and real way.

It's showing this transitional period for a young woman in a comical way to make it a little less awkward, to show how not how not bad it is. This movie normalizes it for young girls. And it it's so necessary because, you know, especially with the internet and how exploitive it could be, you know, it's I don't know, I think it's a very important story for young girls to see.

It's not as a taboo thing anymore, right? That's what you guys are doing with this film.

Absolutely.

Uh, one thing that I really loved was the aim chat room. Do you guys remember Aim at all? Do you guys have like screen names?

Yes.

Fran the Panda. I think I just felt really connected with the with the pandas with the pandas as far as how much they sleep and eat and rest.

So, the resting and eating part you really related to?

Yes. Got it.

I was a basketball player my entire life. So, my account just pretty straightforward, The City Baller.

The City Baller. No numbers. There's only one City Baller. No numbers. Okay. That's a good that's a good one, though. I like that. I feel like it's pretty impressive that you got The City Baller in New York City. I feel like that's one that's going to be taken for like basketball's been around in New York City and nobody. People been trying to buy that screen name from off of them for years.

Yeah, high price.

Did you make money off it? I know people that know people. Yeah. All right. So, the film is also about guilty pleasures. Do you guys have any individual guilty pleasures that you would love to tell the world right now?

My guilty pleasures are like, I eat fruit out of season. There's like a certain kind of apple that like has to be shipped in from New Zealand and I feel guilty about the fact that they spent.

Yeah, dude. This is what I have left.

Yeah, out of season apples that come from New Zealand. And I would also say like, you know, maybe I have an extra glass of wine on Saturdays.

I uh, I don't really watch any reality television, but um, since I was like, I don't know, like 12 or so, my mother and I, we would watch the first episode of The Bachelor. Make predictions about who we think the three girls are going to be at the end and then watch the last episode.

Nice. That's actually a really that's I think that's probably the best way to watch the show.

We've done we've done that uh pretty much every year.

Have you ever come out on top with like your go actually one?

Have I ever not come out on top of you kidding me?

And then lastly, to end the interview, you guys, could you just tell me why our audience should watch Yes, God, Yes?

They should watch it because it's an incredibly sweet story about something that they probably went through themselves or are currently going through. And it might offer some hope that if you're having a little bit of a tough time, a lot of people go through this too, so don't feel like it's just you.
