Vanessa Hudgens and the Cast of "Bandslam"

Hey Young Hollywood, I'm Michelle Hummel, we're at the Grammy Museum in LA Live. We're going to talk to some of the stars of the movie Band Slam.

We're here with another movie, music, high school. I can't imagine them casting anyone other than you.

Well, thank you. Yeah, it's a lot of fun. I'm glad we got to do it.

Now, walking around this museum, do you have a favorite era of music that you really love?

I walked by a picture of Madonna. I think she was in her early twenties, and it's just so incredible seeing these people who are so passionate about what they do and just completely following through and still doing it.

So, if you saw one musician, who would make you extremely starstruck, besides maybe Madonna?

Well, I already got to meet Celine Dion, who is basically my inspiration. When I met her, I was completely freaked out and she was so sweet. And, uh, she called us by our very first names, me and my girlfriend, Ashley. So, I was very excited.

If you could give Young Hollywood advice in making it in this industry, what would it be?

Just to follow your dreams. Honestly, it's tacky, I know, but if you love doing what you do, you'll get there.

Did you have bacon this morning?

You know what? I did not. But, that's a really good question, because I love bacon, as everybody knows. I don't really eat breakfast that much in the morning, which is bad, because I usually wake up at like 10:00. But, I do have bacon all the time whenever I'm on set.

Now, this movie, Band Slam, you get to play the, the fun, popular cheerleader. The musically inclined. What do you love most about acting versus doing music?

I feel like music is myself and being an actor is someone else who I totally create.

It seemed like you had a really fun crew. How was it working with Vanessa?

It was really fun. We all became really close friends. I mean, Galen's awesome and he's such a cool dude. And, Vanessa and I became really close girlfriends. So, it was just a really tight knit group and we all loved to just hang out afterwards and we would, you know, go see movies and like play Rock Band and go laser tagging on the weekends and we just had a really good time.

What's your name?

Will Burton.

What's yours? Everybody loves the drummer. We got a bad boy in the kitchen and his name is The five is silent. Now, you get to play kind of a band manager in this movie. Where where did you pull this knowledge from? Do you have any previous knowledge of bands music?

Absolutely not. No. When I was growing up, I was in a few bands and I'm in one now. But, it's different to be managing.

Exactly how big is this whole Band Slam thing around here?

Texas high school football big.

What are some of your favorite on-set moments? Do you have any cool ones with either Alyson or Vanessa?

Yeah, I mean, unfortunately in the movie I have to kiss both of them.

And unfortunate for them, clearly. No. What did you do to prepare for the smooching?

Um, well, you know, we eat a lot of peanut butter. Definitely don't have anything like mints. No, you know, we, it's, it's just fun and cute and I don't think I was really acting for most of that part. I was pretty scared. I mean, these are superstar girls that I'd drawn into my life and now I guess I'm friends with.

You'd like her like her.

I wouldn't even know what to do.
