Hey guys, it's Michelle Marie with Young Hollywood and Vitamin Water. We're here at the Sky Lodge with Shiloh Fernandez of Skateland. Here promoting your movie that's getting so much buzz. How do you feel about Sundance so far?

Shiloh Fernandez

Uh, it's amazing. I'm I'm happy to be here with the film in competition. And uh the people that made the movie, you know, it was it was two brothers and their best friend who wrote it. I'm staying with those guys right now. And what's so cool is to have like so many of the cast here right now. You know, so to have a reunion is really really cool.

Young Hollywood

Tell me more about the movie and what you can uh tell us about your character.

Shiloh Fernandez

Uh yeah, I played Richie Wheeler. It takes place in the early 80's. Um.

Young Hollywood

Love the 80's.

Shiloh Fernandez

Yeah. East Texas. Yeah, and you know, they really nailed like the look and the music. It's kind of amazing. It's It's this kid who's kind of struggling to find himself. He he lives in this small town in East Texas. And um. And he works at this place called Skateland. It's kind of like skateboarding's getting bigger. And Skateland has to close down. And so he's kind of forced to make some decisions. Yeah. Um and and kind of like find himself and move forward in life, you know, not stay in the small town.

Young Hollywood

You guys are here promoting your film and you actually starred. You starred, produced and also wrote it as well. That's a lot of work. And you know, that's really awesome for you here. I mean, I can't imagine.

Guest

Yeah, I did. Yeah. I'm tired.

Young Hollywood

Tell me about that.

Guest

It's amazing. Um my my big priority was just to form a really great cast. And a really cool group of people. And and once you do that, then you see it in the film. Right. And you see how tight everyone is and you see how the chemistry is. It's actually one of those things you hear of people making a film together. And a year or so later when that gets into a festival, the group's just disbanded because of egos or yes, they're not friends. Or someone's suing somebody. Everybody likes to sue everybody. Well, I was talking to Shiloh Fernandez for a little bit and he was just saying, you know, it was a really cool role because it was just kind of me being me. And especially like the 80's. I mean, that's that's that's one of those eras that everybody everybody loves. Second guest: The wardrobe was cool, man. The wardrobe was really cool. Karen Perkens, who who um who's the costume designer for Dazed and Confused. That did our film as well. So she came in with guns blaring. And our production designer, like it looks you know how like movies try to be an 80's movie? Like they try to throw a few things in. Ours looks like it like it's the 80's. It looks like 1983. The color, everything. So, yeah. The hair.

Young Hollywood

What was your favorite outfit on the set? Your favorite 80's outfit on the set? Second guest: Um. Well. I had a mustache. And I had this like fluffed hair with like kind of a Burling in the back. My character was more kind of still stuck in the 70's. He was the older guy in the group. And uh owned this owned Skateland. And so my my character was just sort of this I don't know, Grateful Dead type of guy, you know, wise cat, but yeah, it was fun. It was good.

Young Hollywood

What have you seen with like the Sundance fashion with the ladies? What's like the ultimate outfit for a hot girl to wear? Second guest: Any girl that looks like Chewbacca, I'm totally going to chubby for. If it looks like she skinned Chewbacca and is wearing Chewbacca. Chewbacca with Botox and big lips. That is my that's my girl. That's it. That's the one. That is the one.

Guest

What there is you can get a furry thong here. A real, yeah, [bleep] Fox fur thong. Second guest: Well, yeah, you can go get it. You gotta go get it. I gotta go get it. Right down the street and, you know, it's cold out, so. And it's $700.

Young Hollywood
