Hey guys, it's Michelle Marie coming to you from the Fred Segal Fun Lounge. We're here with Young Hollywood and Vitamin Water. I am here with Malin Akerman and Josh Radnor and they're here to promote Happythankyoumoreplease and I have to say, I like that title. Happythankyoumoreplease.
You do.
It just makes you happy, doesn't it?
It does, it does. That was the goal. Yes.
Tell me, tell me what the whole meaning behind it is, the real meaning.
Well, Malin's character Annie in the movie, she gives a speech that's about gratitude and about how with gratitude the universe is eternally abundant and and how it's not enough to just say thank you. You can tell the universe more please and do more please. Thank you. More please. And then, uh, Happy who doesn't want to be happy. So we mashed it all together.
Love it.
And we got one strange word that is the title of our movie.
If you guys were to sum up Sundance in a few words for the viewers that have never been here, what is it really like?
It's exciting. Uh, you know, there's a lot of energy. I I think it's there's something kind of homey about it just because it feels like you're, I mean, it feels like you are in a small town and you've got the snow coming down and the slopes. I don't know, it kinda feels like Christmas all over.
It feels like Christmas, right?
Yeah. I mean, certainly waking up this morning felt like, oh my god.
What's the coolest thing you got here at the around at the lounge?
Uh, I got these amazing bracelets.
Yay, fun.
Which are pretty awesome. They're layered up.
I got a cool I got a cool jacket.
The movie, I know that has a great cast. You guys have so many great people. How was it actually getting everyone together?
Well, weirdly, I had offered Malin another role in the movie and she kind of felt like she played a version of that role, but she loved the script and in particular she fell in love with this one role. So, the actress we had who was gonna play that dropped out and Malin threw herself halfway around the world and stalked me. She was actually in France at the time.
And I was like and my agent called and he just said, you know, that role is available if you want to go. I was like, I'm on the plane tomorrow. I was so in love with it and we sat in your apartment, um, for a few hours. Went through it and then got on a plane and got out. And that was it.
That was it. Yeah. I mean, she has such willingness. The the the character has Alopecia means she has no hair anywhere on her body. I showed Malin a few pictures of my friend Rachel who the part's based on and Malin the first thing she said was, well, I'd have to shave my eyebrows. I mean, you know, she just really threw herself into it and it was it was amazing and and she's stunning in the movie.
That's gotta have been really scary to do that.
You know what? For me, it's exciting. I love, that's why I'm in this business. I love doing that stuff. I I would do anything for these characters and I think it was exciting. It was a whole new experience and you know, my husband called me his little angel all the time. We already premiered the film. The hard part's over. We're feeling good so, um, yeah. And it was so well received and Josh is an amazing director, writer and actor. Oh. It was phenomenal.
