What's up, guys? We're here at Comic Con about to hang out with the cast of Castle Rock. Have you been able to pick up on any similarities between your character in Castle Rock and Pennywise in It? Since we're still in the Stephen King universe?
Not really. I mean, I I don't think the characters could be further apart. I mean, Pennywise is a Stephen King character and uh the kid in in Castle Rock is adapted or inspired by the Stephen King universe, but the characters are uh completely different. I don't I mean, it's like comparing Pennywise with any character. It's like they're going to be completely different. There's only one Pennywise, you know what I mean?
Of course. Yeah, yeah.
My character's name is Jackie, and she's a little weirdo. She is uh explained in one of the scripts as Tracy Flick meets Ed Gain, and Tracy Flick is Reese Witherspoon's character from Election. Okay. So like a type A like uh class president type of person. And then Ed Gain is the infamous serial killer who took people's skin and wore it as a suit. She's ambitious and plucky and curious, but she's like the things that she's curious about are like parasitic twins and psychopathic dogs, and yeah, like horror.
What can fans expect from your character in the series? Second guest: Oh, well, she starts out and she's a real mess and gradually makes some improvements, doesn't make some improvements. It's quite a journey.
Can you tell me about the most memorable fan experience you've had so far?
They're all so memorable. All of them. No, I don't yeah, I don't know if I have one that's
Okay, or the first time you were recognized in public.
That's funny. I've never thought about that. I don't
Really?
Yeah, I never thought about like the first time someone recognized me. I don't remember it at all.
What would be one word you could describe her as? If you had to pick one.
Freak. Second guest: But I would say complicated.
Okay. Second guest: There's so much going on. Also secretive.
What is it like working on a Stephen King project? He's iconic.
Yeah. Um I didn't know that much about Stephen King before we started. Um I've learned so much about him through working on this project and reading about him and what a cool guy. The nice thing about it is that it wasn't like a straight-up adaptation. It was new characters and new stories, but also getting to incorporate a lot of the things that people love about his work in some of those characters. So it there's like a lot of freedom to it, but then there's also being able to pay homage to it. So it was a good balance.
If you could go to Castle Rock for one day and you could bring one person for night. Who would you bring?
I probably bring like my best friend and like creep around and like try to find the scariest we could. Second guest: I would bring my fiance. He's my favorite person. He makes me feel safer and bitter about wherever we are. So,
What are you nerding out to right now? Anything at all.
This is the least nerdy nerd thing, but I just watched this British mini series called National Treasure.
National Treasure?
Yeah. We watched both seasons in a day and a half.
Oh, wow.
Yeah. It's really good. Andrea Riseborough, who's an actress I'm obsessed with, is in the first season. Sarah Lanksh is in the second season. It's so good. I mean, Sissy Spacek.
Okay, that's true, everybody is. Everybody is.
