What's up guys? We are here in San Diego Comic-Con hanging out with Seth MacFarlane talking all things Orville. So you work with a hysterical cast. Tell me about any set stories that happened that were kind of behind the scenes that stood out to you.

Seth MacFarlane

You know, we're just we're just scrambling to make the day and get all of our scenes done. There's I don't think there's I don't think there's any huge prank wars that have No prank wars at all. happened yet. Um I mean, somebody left a mountain of pork rinds in somebody else's trailer. My favorite days on set are actually as much as the bridge can be hard to shoot. I love it because we're all together. And you get Jaylee and Scott Grimes together. Literally a show by itself. It is just them behind, you know, camera talking. They get They They do these bits back and forth every day. It's different.

Guest

The humor episode, Gordon is teaching Isaac about humor. And Gordon puts the Mister Potato Head on Isaac, and then Isaac cuts his leg off. So, Howard Berger made this little stanky leg foot. You know what I mean? That Scott had to come in hobbling on it. And he It was like his leg was regrowing but it wasn't finished. It was like right in my eyeline, and like the camera's here. And like if I if I would look down like blown the take because it was so gross and then you know it smelled really bad. Second guest: Look, it's a funny show and there are moments where you're trying to keep you know, character and you gotta get through a funny line. Scott has a very good ability of He'll know when somebody's gonna break. And he'll sort of look at you. And Seth rarely breaks. But Scotty makes him break.

Seth MacFarlane

I make I can Yeah, I can just look at him and he doesn't like it because he doesn't like to break.

Young Hollywood

You can make Seth break?

Seth MacFarlane

Oh, yeah. And he's like, "Do not cut." He's like, "Do not cut. We're gonna get through it. Don't cut." Right before he's about to say a line, I just go off camera. And he's gone.

Comic-Con is known for their fans to camp out, to go see panels and such. What is one thing you'd actually camp out for?

Seth MacFarlane

Wow, that's a good question. It'd take a lot for me to camp out on the sidewalk. I don't know, man. The cast of Space 1999 showed up. Maybe I'd be Maybe I'd pitch a tent.

Guest

I would camp out if Freddie Mercury was still alive. I would give anything to see a Queen concert. With him. And I would camp out for like weeks to see that.

Young Hollywood

How long would you camp out for that?

Guest

I would camp out for a month.

Young Hollywood

Oh, my gosh, you are so good. I was gonna say Whitney Houston or Michael Jackson, if they came back, I would definitely be camping out. You guys are based in the future, this whole entire show. If you had the option to go into the future to just see a glimpse of where you like ended up or stay in the present time and never know, which one would you choose?

Guest

I would go in the future because everybody would love black people. 'Cause they love They love us now but they just don't say it enough. But in the future they'd be like, "Oh, we so messed up. We should have told you guys we loved you more." Yeah. Second guest: I would go and be with him to see cuz I would love to see that for him. No joke. Yeah, absolutely.

Seth MacFarlane

I would stay in the present because the thing is, it would influence my future. And I and that's something I I like the day-to-day adventure. And I like to know that, you know, first of all, I'd be just happy to know I was, you know, in the future. Um but I I like the day-to-day adventure. It It shapes who you are. So, you know, I would I wouldn't really wanna know.

Guest

I would actually go to the past.

Young Hollywood

Oh.

Guest

You didn't give me that option but I'm yeah. I I I would go to the past and I would tweak things so that I can enhance my future. Second guest: If I was promised that I could get one of those Men in Black like "Whoosh!" where like it would just go away, or like like a shot. like it just goes and I see everything and like before I had a stroke, like because you would be like, "Oh, my God." And then like they give you the shot and then you go back and like you don't remember any of it. I would do it. That's only under those conditions. Only that. Yeah.

Young Hollywood

What about you?

Seth MacFarlane

Well, any time you try to screw around with the time-space continuum from the standpoint of trying to peek at it, you always break you're breaking something. So, you're changing you're gonna change the history anyway. So, I would rather not.

Young Hollywood

What if you're in 40 years in the future and the 41st season of Orville is airing? Oh, what does that look like? What would that look like?

Seth MacFarlane

No, no, no, no, no, no. No, no, no, no, no.

Young Hollywood

Gordon, you have a question? Gordy?
