Young Hollywood

What's going on guys? Hanging with me right now. I have Nolan Gould and it's early in the morning guys. It's real early. We're in San Diego. This is so cool.

Nolan Gould

This is awesome. I can't believe you guys have an actual like Young Hollywood bus.

Young Hollywood

I know. We're just the coolest, right? It's super inconspicuous. Um,

Nolan Gould

Thanks. That's what we were going for. There's just tons of people looking in on us right now. Do you feel exposed?

Young Hollywood

I, I do feel exposed. I feel like we've seen you like everywhere. We saw you at um, at set. Modern Family. Yes. Yeah.

Nolan Gould

It's such a nice feeling like when you want to go to work or like you when I don't work for a week and I'm just like, "Man, I want to get back."

Young Hollywood

E3? At E3. Come on, Batman, you want some? Uh oh. When we went to set with you, you sang Shawn Mendes.

Nolan Gould

Oh, yeah. Love it when you go crazy, baby. There's nothing holding me back.

Young Hollywood

You broke our YouTube I think because everyone just loved it so much. I just wanted to congratulate you on that. It was great. Is this is this your is this your way of hinting that you want me to sing Shawn Mendes again?

Nolan Gould

I mean, if it'll wake you up and you're there It is in my blood. Okay. I can't Yeah, I can't hit the full set of those. My voice just cracked. I want another chance. Wait. It is in my blood. All right, this is just getting worse. This is going to go viral but for the wrong reasons.

Young Hollywood

For the best reasons though. Well, Comic Con, we do have to talk about that. You've been here now five Comic Cons. Is that right? This is your fifth?

Nolan Gould

Yeah, five five or six years. That's crazy. Yeah.

Young Hollywood

So what's like your favorite thing now? You've seen so much of it. Is there anything that kind of stands out to you now?

Nolan Gould

I've kind of found like I don't know, really cool and like unique, like walking around um in between the booths. I see like the same artists every year. And then so I come back and like check up and see like how their art's doing and like how it's progressed. So, I don't know, it's kind of cool. You like form um connections over Comic Con like by going to Comic Con for so many years. That's so cool. Yeah, for sure. Um, I also I I got into comic books this year. As like as an as an adult, yeah.

Young Hollywood

Oh, that's cool though. I didn't realize Comic Con actually had comic books. Yeah. So, what which one are you reading? Any one in particular?

Nolan Gould

Um, yeah, I'm reading like, all right, they're not technically comic books. They're graphic novels.

Young Hollywood

Okay.

Nolan Gould

Sounds a little cooler. Yeah. Um, graphic novels I'm reading, uh, Y: The Last Man by Brian K. Vaughan. And also his other series, Saga.

Young Hollywood

Awesome. Yeah. Very cool. Well, I do want to talk to you about Modern Family because so many emotions. Final season's about to air. What's going on through your head and your heart? Tell the fans.

Nolan Gould

It's going to be the end of an era. I think, for sure. Yeah. I'd say so. And I don't know what like literally I pictured Modern Family ending and then I just see me for the next eight months crying in my room.

Young Hollywood

Aw, so sad.

Nolan Gould

Playing Shawn Mendes, In My Blood. It's a good time to cry to. Yeah. Good song to cry to. Yeah. Um, But yeah, you know, I mean, I I love I love Modern Family. I love um, my TV family and getting to work there every day is just an ultimate blessing. But I am excited for the uh, ability to go and work on other things and kind of um, spread my wings, so to say, as an actor and show everyone what else I can do.

Young Hollywood

Yeah, for sure. Do you have like one favorite memory or maybe scene out of Modern Family, from like start to finish?

Nolan Gould

If it's just a scene where Phil Dunphy comes running in and he's screaming about something completely silly like how like the vending machine has a super old candy bar that was discontinued like 20 years ago, because that's how old our motel is. Uh huh. And I mean like I just think Ty is so funny that I legit can never make eye contact with him during the entire scene. So you'll see us acting together but like my eyeline is slightly off and his eyeline is slightly off because like if we knew if we made eye contact with each other, we would just break.

Young Hollywood

Really?

Nolan Gould

Yeah. And it just reminds me of what every day and every scene of Modern Family is like.

Young Hollywood

That's so fun. It's such a fun show. I I think everyone's going to miss it once it finally comes to that final end. Yeah. And speaking of your fans, I'm sure you guys have been recognized out so many times or there's fun fan experiences. Is there like one really funny story of a fan like running up to you in the streets or anything like that?

Nolan Gould

I've been having a lot of fun with people who recognize me, but they're wrong about where they think I'm from.

Young Hollywood

Oh, really?

Nolan Gould

Or they they get some detail wrong. Like I had someone came come up yesterday and asked me if I was Nathaniel Gold.

Young Hollywood

Nathaniel.

Nolan Gould

To which I replied, "No." And I wasn't lying. Right. I'm not Nathaniel Gold. I had someone um, she's like, "Oh my God, it's him." She runs up and she's like, "You're from Wizards of Waverly Place." And I just yelled, "No."

Young Hollywood

No. And I walked away. You walked away? Oh no. I think she'll never know how close she was. Yeah. All right. Well, maybe now she will if she ever watches this interview. Oh Nolan, thank you so much. You're always a pleasure. Hope to still do things with you, you know, after Modern Fam. Keep us posted on what you're up to.

Nolan Gould

Of course. I'll see you at the next nerdy event, whatever it is.

Young Hollywood

Whatever it is, yeah.
