Say, remember when Crash was named best picture at this year's Oscars and director Paul Haggis bounded on stage to collect the award. Well, he sure looked happy. And the Oscar is nice, but it's certainly no young Hollywood award. To present the award to Paul Haggis is one of his actors from Crash. Please welcome the magnetic, Lorenz Tate.
Yeah, Paul. It's going down. It's been good, right? You know, when I first read Paul Haggis and Bobby Moresco's script for Crash, I was knocked out of my chair. They took what could have been stereotypical characters, you know, casual carjackers, jaded cops, a pampered West Side housewife and peeled the layers of these people away. You know, they did this in a way showing those people for who they really are and showing us the audience who we are in the process. You know, Paul delivered that same passion on the set as the as the director and he surely brought out the best in each and every one of us. Since Crash came out, I can't tell you how many of my friends have come up to me and told me, damn, man, I wish I was in that movie. And I get it, you know. It's my wish to you, my fellow actors that you all get a chance to work with the great, wonderful, Paul Haggis. But of course not in those roles that are right for me, Paul. Those are mine. We got a history. Hook a brother up. Um, it gives me great pleasure to present Young Hollywood's Dream Director to the man who gave me a dream experience on Crash. Everybody, Mr. Paul Haggis.
Um, thanks to Hollywood Life Magazine. It's an honor. My daughter helped me write some comments for tonight. I'm supposed to oh yeah. Big ups to all my peeps here. Yeah. I think I think that's you, Larry. I could be wrong. I think oh yeah, you too. Yeah. Um, you know, I I'm getting a chance, you know, you look this this dream director nonsense. It I'm getting a chance to live my dream right now and to just to pictures that uh I'm passionate about. And boy, I I wish that for all of you. I mean, it's it's odd because I think everyone who's been on the stage has done more movies than I have. Uh, but I'm I'm really enjoying every single one. So I I want to thank them. Thank these guys, the Hollywood Life Magazine and the editors and I want to I want to thank you all and just say just continue to live your passion. That's just just do projects that are important to you. We this is this is the time to do that. This is the time to change the world. Yeah. Thanks so much.
