Getting Glammed: Meet Miss Golden Globe, Gia Mantegna

Welcome to Young Hollywood. Hey guys, Tatiana Diana here. We're gonna catch up with Miss Golden Globe, Gia Mantegna, before she hits the red carpet. So, Gia, you are Miss Golden Globes, how does it feel?

It's very, very exciting. It's quite an honor.

So for people who don't know what Miss Golden Globes is and it's kind of a grueling process, tell me what you went through to get this throne.

Well, basically, it was a lot like an audition for um, a movie or a TV show and I went in and had a meeting with the HFPA and it was extremely intimidating. You go in and you sit at a big table and you just kind of talk about yourself for 30 minutes. But of course everyone was wonderful and it ended up being a really great experience.

Okay, so the whole Golden Globes experience, it's like a lot of preparation. What's been the most difficult thing for you?

Finding a dress has been the most difficult thing, actually. Um I have a wonderful stylist, Taylor Jacobson, um who's helped me find pretty much all my outfits for the event.

Can you give us a little bit of a hint of what they look like?

Well, the first one, um, is a beautiful white and black dress, um that's been fitted um to perfection. And then the second for the ceremony is gold, which I find very fitting.

So, is this your first Golden Globes that you're actually attending?

It is. It is. My dad was actually nominated for a Golden Globe, um a few years back for his role in the Rat Pack.

How excited is Gia to be Miss Golden Globe?

She's pretty excited. I mean, it's, I think it's turned out to be much more than she even anticipated. I mean, it's one of those things like, you know, as a lot of young people are, they're not quite sure what what it is and what it's expected of her and what it's all about. And I think as she found out just the magnitude of it, I think she was pretty pretty excited by it.

So, did you know that you wanted to be an actress ever since you were younger because of your dad?

Well, you know, I kind of, I obviously, you know, grew up around the business and it just kind of seemed like something that I always wanted to do. It was kind of like, you know, when's my turn?

So tell me about practices and rehearsals, is it a grueling situation?

It's been pretty intense. Um, this morning I was up since 6:00 a. m. um, getting hair and makeup ready and there was rehearsal all day today, uh, working with the different presenters and and um, we actually just finished and ran up here and I'll go do the carpet, do some press and then run right backstage and get ready for the show.

Are you nervous?

I'm excited. I'm really, I'm really excited. Yeah. I I don't want to be nervous because, you know, it's such a it's such an incredible event. Um it's very laid back. It's a lot like a dinner party. So I think it's gonna be a really great energy and I'm I'm just so happy to be a part of it.

Amazing. And also while we're here, I hear that you're gonna be getting a gift and I think we're gonna be here to catch a little glimpse of it.

Yes, yes, Phil, I think will be presenting me with a a little jewelry tonight. So,
