Eva Longoria presents to Michael Douglas

We all know that this town has a share of performers who are dynamic and compelling on screen but miserable jerks when the cameras stop rolling. Nobody in this room, of course. The type of star would probably never receive a Young Hollywood role model award. For that honor, you need someone truly admirable. Someone who works to make the world a better place. Someone bold and smart but who doesn't take themselves too seriously. Someone like Michael Douglas. Please welcome my friend, the season passworthy, Eva Longoria. Offscreen, Michael Douglas is a generous, passionate philanthropist. His public service resume is as long as his acting resume.

He's also a savvy producer and a loving husband and a wonderful father. And working with with Michael was one of the most fulfilling and exciting experiences of my life. Michael is truly an inspiration to anyone who is hoping to achieve longevity as an actor. So tonight, I give you Young Hollywood's role model award to Michael Douglas. Thank you. Thank you. Very, very kind. Thank you very much. Role model. Wow. Well, on behalf of my mom, uh I want to thank uh the editors of uh of Hollywood, Hollywood Life very, very much uh for this. I never ever anticipated this um in my in my resume. Um somebody says uh giving unsolicited advice is a hostile gesture. So, um I'll keep it short.

Uh a good idea doesn't make a good movie. Uh a good verse doesn't make a a good song. Uh I was fortunate enough, I guess, to have a mother and father, both of them who were in the business, who had a sense of balance between what their careers were and what they felt they had to give back to their community, uh to the world around them. So, I guess I really have to thank them a lot for setting the standards of trying to to give something back. And um I wish all of you the greatest successes in your own careers, um and also in your love lives. Uh and how you uh what's it's important. I look back and I remember when I was your age, the only thing that mattered was my career.

And then things change when you get a little older. So, thank you all very much and have a great, great evening.
