Young Hollywood

Nikki Novak here for the Young Hollywood Network on the red carpet at the 64th annual Primetime Emmy Awards. What's the last thing you do before you walk out?

Tom Berenger

I have a bottle of white wine and some ice. Cracking the wine.

Young Hollywood

Nominated for Hatfields and McCoys. Congratulations! How have you two celebrated? Have you celebrated so far?

Tom Berenger

Uh, yeah, maybe a little too much and we're both kind of a little tired today. We had a Hatfield McCoy's reunion last night. I mean that go, I know that made the news. That was great. That was the one I was looking forward to. He just jumped in the, uh, the pool over at the room.

Young Hollywood

Did you just say you just went swimming?

Tom Berenger

I went swimming like about two seconds ago, hence why I'm so wet.

Young Hollywood

We're talking to Matt Barr, your co-star and he told us there's a swimming pool just on the other side of the Staple Center and he took a dip right before he came.

Tom Berenger

We did not. We did not. I think he was lying. I think he was covering up for the fact that he was a little bit, a little bit dewy.

Young Hollywood

To what do you owe the success success of Hatfields and McCoys? I know it broke all kinds of ratings records. Is it the big movie stars doing TV? Cuz a lot of the film stars are now doing TV. What was it about Hatfields and McCoys?

Tom Berenger

Well, I see the thing is is that you got this great story and you had the time to tell it. If it was a movie, they would have cut it down to an hour and a half, maybe two hours, you know. And you wouldn't have got all the characters in, you wouldn't have got all the subplots, you wouldn't have got all the history in. People tried to get the DVD and I said that's the way to watch it, like we did, but watch the whole thing through like on a Sunday. You're at home, you watch it all the way through and you go, whoa.

Young Hollywood

I asked you what the last thing you did before you left. What's gonna be the first thing you do when you get home?

Tom Berenger

A cold shower. Sleep. Sleep. Laundry. Laundry.

Young Hollywood

Well, maybe you'll have a nice Emmy to hang your laundry on.

Tom Berenger

Yeah. Yeah. Or use as a doorstop. Good use for it, right?

Young Hollywood

Congratulations on a successful year and have a great time and keep cracking that wine. Thanks so much.
