You know him from Independence Day, The Grudge and while you were sleeping.
I know him from the set of Scary Movie 4 where he often referred to me as Captain Idiot.
Thank you.
Please welcome Bill Pullman.
Uh, it's a great pleasure to be here to give this award to Aaron for a couple of reasons.
One is that it's he won't show it but it will be a real torture for him to walk up here and get it.
And that's kind of pay back for the scene that we did in this office drama, Rick, uh where he pelted me with jelly beans driving me across the room under a table and then into the corner into a fetal position all afternoon and hitting me really hard with every jelly bean.
And he said he didn't necessarily enjoy it, but he hit me really hard.
So I hope he is tortured, but it's also a pleasure because he's a good guy.
He's a great soul and he's a reader.
That counts for something.
We don't always agree about anything, everything.
He um he would say, well, I would say that he's worthy of the one to watch award, and he would say he wasn't.
I would say that he's sexy like James Dean and cuddly like a koala bear but he says Bill don't embarrass yourself.
But we do agree he has great respect for the work and what it requires.
He thinks it's as important to do an off-off Broadway play as it is to do a big movie like X-Men.
I respect him for that.
Also, I have to agree that he's not from New Jersey.
He's from Massachusetts, but I think there is a huge part of New Jersey in him.
I'd like to present this award to my friend, Aaron Stanford, the one to watch award.
And I I really want to say that I I can't tell you how thrilled I am that that I got this stubby award tonight.
This is half half the size of the other awards.
I had nothing amusing to say before I came up here and this is kind of a gimme.
So I guess this means that uh I'm I'm halfway to being part of young Hollywood and I'm happy with that.
Um I'd like to I'd just like to thank everyone who uh who who's ever supported me.
Uh my my agents at Endeavor, uh my girlfriend who couldn't be here, Kelly, and uh my manager, Leslie Stalansky, publicist, Deline Fox and uh just anyone who's ever believed in me and uh I love what I do.
And I feel very blessed.
Thank you.
You know what I'd love if one of the Poseidon people literally showed up dripping wet, covered in bruises like they were just rescued and came straight here and maybe they could cough up a guppy, which also happens to be street lingo for coughing up a guppy.
The thing is, Emmy Rossum could do all of those things and still come off as more poised, elegant, and together than most of us on our best day.
I want to thank uh Anne Vallack and the editors of Hollywood Life for for this honor.
Gosh, I mean, uh, every day I wake up and I think about how lucky I am just to do something that I love, that, you know, create something that people enjoy and uh, gosh, star of tomorrow.
I don't know, you know, it's I don't really think of myself as a star because the people that are stars to me in my life, the people I admire are, you know, not always really out
