Alicia Silverstone presents to Frances Hayward

A breakthrough to be sure. Her innate kindness and unwavering commitment to animal rights have changed and inspired not only the lives of countless people, but the lives and conditions of all living creatures. She is the founder of the charity whose name says it all, Be Kind. That's a good motto to live by, some words all of us should take home with us. Here to present this special award is an actress who is well known for her charitable endeavors as she is for her talent. Please welcome Alicia Silverstone.

Francis Haywood, um, formed this amazing organization and has been working tirelessly to save animals. And, um, I'm really honored and profoundly excited to be here and that that Hollywood Life Magazine would present such an award to such an amazing woman for such wonderful work. Um, she's continuing to get everyone to rescue animals, to be aware that there are endless amounts of animals dying in the pounds right now. Boycott breeders, boycott pet stores, rescue animals, and thank you so much for being here and doing what you're doing so tirelessly. I'm so honored, Francis Haywood.

Not very long ago, Amigo was the most tragic little creature one could ever possibly imagine. He was a little bag of bones, he had no hair. He was so terrified of people that I used to have to leave food on the ground and drive away before he would eat. Well, look at him now. I, be kind, people like Alicia, the Humane Society of the United States, all of us who care so desperately have devoted our lives. Thank you very much.
