Guest

Thank you so much, Leslie. Thank you.

Young Hollywood

Time's flying. Professionally speaking, a lot has happened since you and your brother were on this couch.

Guest

It's such a great thing to enjoy the success together as as as as a team.

Young Hollywood

You've now retired from professional boxing.

Guest

Yeah, after 27 years. Wow. It was great to be an athlete, and it's so fantastic to retire under my terms. Not some people's terms, not destiny, and God forbid, not health.

Young Hollywood

Well, you talk about that in your new book. Doing things on your own terms. So, this book is is a method.

Guest

Challenge management is a philosophy, and the method's called face your challenge. Why face your challenge? Because you cannot show back to your challenge. So, face it. You know, boxers are always like stare down. So, they're turning face to each other, and never back. When they fight and also at the press conference weigh-ins, they're always like staring at each other. And showing the face to the challenger, or a challenger in this case. But face has also principles, this is four letters. Focus, agility, coordination, and endurance. And that's exactly the qualities that every person that is successful or want to be successful or creative, and doing something in his life, those four principles are crucially important. So, it all starts with a belief. You need to really strongly believe in something. That's how you break the ground. Then, it gets to willpower. Willpower is kinda really also something that makes you to make first step, which is really important. Then, motivation kicks in. And it's so great to be motivated, especially in the morning when you have a cup of coffee and maybe cold shower and a workout, and then you're so motivated for whatever you want to achieve in your life. Then, from motivation, you get to discipline. And I've been in the mind of 27 years, so disciplined. So, discipline is like a train on a railway. It gets from A to B and from B to A. So, there is only one way. Discipline is great, but it's kinda tough. It's kinda hard. And eventually, you get on this call to the fifth step. Habit. Be careful, though, there are some other habits.

Young Hollywood

Like?

Guest

Bad habits. Like anything. So, it's pretty much the same coding going on with the bad habits.

Young Hollywood

Do you have bad habits?

Guest

I can't even consider it as bad because I'm always on the move. Always on the move because if you stand still, you kinda fall back. And sometimes you have to reflect. You kinda need to lean back and reflect. And I think that's what I don't do because I'm just always on the move. Always on the move. I'm always talking. See? And on one side, it's an advantage, but on the other side it could be like, you need to sit back and reflect. Sit back. Relax. Reflect what is going on. Yeah, he's up there. Thank you. You know what? You're good.

Young Hollywood

You said you drink coffee in the morning?

Guest

Yes, I do and a workout every morning.

Young Hollywood

Workout coffee every morning. You said cold shower? Really cold?

Guest

Yeah, like super cold.

Young Hollywood

What? Yeah. That's so great. You just got like really excited.

Guest

Yeah, I love it. I love it. The colder it is, the better it is. I can tell.

Young Hollywood

Wait, there's no warmth at all in the beginning?

Guest

No, no, no, you start with a warm shower and then you end up for another like three minutes or five minutes, just really cold, not longer than that. Otherwise, you're gonna like get cold.

Young Hollywood

Does that just wake you up?

Guest

Uh, it definitely gives me a boost of energy and motivation all of this for the day.

Young Hollywood

Wow. And then, any nighttime routine that you have?

Guest

Uh, I sleep like a bear. Or like a champ. And what bear does, it snores. So, that's probably, hmm, not that good.

Young Hollywood

You snore?

Guest

Who doesn't?

Young Hollywood

I don't snore.

Guest

Oh no, of course not you. No, no, no. I didn't look at you. No.

Young Hollywood

So, of course, you mentioned you're in retirement, it's treating you well, you're busier than ever.

Guest

That sounds like, you just said retirement. Sounds negative. You know, I'm too young to retire. But yeah, I'm busier than ever. Yeah. It's true. Because my schedule during the sporting times, being in sport, it was all kinda scheduled and, you know, I had time to reflect and all this, but now, as soon as I stepped out of the ring, things got wild. There's so much to do and the world is so big, and I'm so hungry for a lot of new things to do, achieve, and I'm just moving on in that direction.

Young Hollywood

I think the world is hungry for you to get back in the ring. Just between you and me?

Guest

Yeah. I still got it.

Young Hollywood

You still got it.

Guest

I still got it. Think about it. Yeah. To become a champion at 45. I'll think about it.

Young Hollywood

When you are a champion again because you will be a champion again. Because he's ready and he's got it. You'll be back in the studio. I think it's a good deal. Good deal.
