Go-Karting with NASCAR's Daytona 500 Winner Austin Dillon

What's up, guys? Leslie Robbins here for Young Hollywood, joined by NASCAR champion, Mr. Austin Dillon. You've won the Xfinity Series. You've won the Camping World Truck Series. Daytona 500 champion. How did it feel to win it?

Well, there's nothing like it. You know, you dream as a little kid to have an opportunity to win the Daytona 500, and, you know, if you can get it done, it's just like floating on air. And, uh, we've had a great time so far. Getting to do it with my team is the main thing, you know, they did so much for me to get me to this point, and now we're just having fun.

Now, this Daytona 500 win was really special. Talk about what it means to have the three back in number one.

Well, there's nothing like it. Uh, you know, all those Dale Senior fans that are out there that have been pulling for us since we've got into three, to give them a victory like that. There's nothing like the Daytona 500. I've said it earlier. It's just it's the race that everyone dreams of as a kid growing up to this point from going from the go-karts to NASCAR. You you think about having a chance to win the Daytona 500. And, uh, I've got the trophy at home now.

I saw you watching the go-karts going around, not to mention we're Go-Kart World. What does it like bring back when you look at those go-karts?

You know, everybody starts somewhere and I started in a similar type of cart. It'd be like a Bandolero, which is um, back home, it's a full-bodied cart with rear suspension. Nothing in the front and I just started working my way up. Uh, run a little bit of everything and and you got to start somewhere to get all the experience to build up to the point where you're in the Cup Series.

Now, speaking of winning trophies, you won your big trophy. I heard you got a tattoo to commemorate.

Yes, we definitely celebrated it hard, and we wanted to remember that, uh, party pretty good. So we all got, um, a tattoo on our, uh, rear ends.

Is it the right cheek or the left cheek?

Uh, this one is actually on my right cheek.

So, will you have one on your left cheek?

Yeah. It's not the first It's the second time. So you have a

So I have like a butt sleeve going. Wow! Uh, would you like to show us?

I would, but you know, I I it's only for my wife to see.

You're newly married. We have to talk about that. Your gorgeous new wife Whitney. You're newly wed still. I mean, can you have a better year? Really?

Oh, man. It's, uh, it's been a great, you know, start to our marriage, obviously, win the Daytona 500 and that was a good wedding present. So now we're just, uh, on to bigger and better things, you know, keep working hard together.

Well, before we get on here, you need these. You can't have your hair hanging out the back, so. What is this called? It's um, balaclava. But yeah, exactly. You just put it over your head. I'm about to switch mentalities right now. No. Let's go. Put your helmet on. You doing this or not? Better go easy on me. I was about to use a curse word. You want it easy 'cause you're a girl, is that the deal? Yes. I don't do this for a living.

I have to win a big race like the Brickyard or, uh, the Southern 500. I've I've won two of the four crown jewels. If I win the other two, I'll get the tattoo, probably.
