You guys know me on the field as the 5'9", 185 pound free safety, AKA the Honey Badger. This is Beyond the Athlete with Tyrann Mathieu. Going into my rookie season, um, I was just excited to be in the NFL. Um, I was excited to have the opportunity, you know, to play, uh, play out my dreams that I had for so long. Um, so I was grateful for that. I think going into my third year, um, I think it's more about, um, the team, not necessarily about me. It's really about, you know, the bigger picture, uh, for all of us. Well, the difference is they're both hot. They're both very warm places. Um, I would say New Orleans, it's more humidity. You know, I sweat more. Out here, it's more dry.

Everything's new. Everything looks new. Everything is fresh. Um, the people, the people are great. The communities are great. Uh, uh, I think everything about Arizona is pretty good. Although, I will say I missed the food back back home in New Orleans. I would say that. Off the field, uh, I'm kind of like, I'm out of sight, out of mind. I don't want to be around football. Uh, I don't necessarily want to be around the attention. You know, I just kind of just want to chill out. I mean, we get enough I get enough attention, you know, uh, on the field, uh, doing interviews and doing different type of media things.

Um, so when it's time to uh, chill out and not play football, I don't want to really talk about it. I think I've matured a lot, you know, obviously coming into the NFL. Um, having some issues, you know, that I had to deal with. Um, I think I've handled those things well. You know, I had a lot of great people around me also. Um, and I think that helped me a lot too. I didn't have to deal with as many things, you know, um, as I probably should have been dealing with. You know, I had a lot of great people supporting me and, uh, and handling things for me. And I'm really at a point right now where I just want to put the put those things behind me and kind of move forward.

Um, and really enjoy, you know, my life.
