Rose Bowl Talk with USC's Booty

Welcome to younghollywood. com. Hey, Young Hollywood. I'm Camille Anderson. I'm here at USC's football practice. We are just a few days away from the Rose Bowl. This is huge and we are bringing you the exclusive. Here with Star USC quarterback John David Booty. You guys have been practicing hard. What do you personally do to prepare?

You know, really just being in the film room, uh, trying to get in on Illinois's defense, see what they're doing. Uh, by by personnel and by formation and, uh, you know, just just come out and execute our plays.

When you're out there actually playing and you have hundreds and thousands of people watching you, how do you actually keep your head in the game?

Uh, I think you're so focused on what you're out there to do that you kind of, you know, forget about the crowds and and all this just happening around you.

You're following in the footsteps of Matt Leinart, Reggie Bush. How does that make you feel?

I've come from a big-time high school where I've had to follow great players, uh, two national players of the year at the same position that I've had to play and then come here and, uh, follow two Heisman trophy winner quarterbacks. It's kind of I think something that I've been, uh, you know, born to do.

So what's been your secret to all your success and all the frenzy around you?

Uh, I think I think great family. I got a great family. Uh, with my parents and my brothers.

Hey, I'm here with Pete Carroll, uh, USC coach. We saw you out there practicing.

We work really, really hard to practice every day. These guys know that, uh, we can't play the game until the weekend, you know, and we have to focus and so that every day they practice really hard.

As a coach, what's something that you pump your guys up with when you're, you know, mentally preparing them?

We really stress competition. So we put them in in situations often where they have to win or lose. And we don't mind saying who won and who lost, you know. So they battle all the time. Nobody wants to get whipped. So then it carries over to how we how we perform.

What do you look for in a player?

Is his his competitive will. We only got as that really just can't accept anything but the best and they have to they fight for it and they they'll do anything to to to get over in the wind and and be on top.
