What's up guys? Leslie Robbins here for Young Hollywood, coming to you from T-Mobile Park in Seattle. It is MLB's All-Star weekend. Now in a couple of days is the big All-Star game with the pros, but today it is all about the celebrity softball game and these guys are pumped. Here we are in Seattle with freaking favorite. Now, celebrity All-Star game is coming up, but you're a pro in the softball game. What's your strategy going into softball?
Softball going into today, hit the ball and open your eyes when you're fielding because last year my eyes were closed.
So this is not your first rodeo. Tell me what's your strategy today? This game?
My strategy today, this game is to enjoy it because it only comes once a year and just have as much fun as possible in these next few hours.
Well, you look the part. Breakdown your wardrobe for me because you look like you could win.
Well, I, uh, I bring wardrobe every single year. I literally pack a bag with every possible color of sock, pants, shoes, and belt, um, because you never know what jersey you're going to get and I knew this year we were getting Mariners colors. So, I ended up going with the Jordans. I got gray socks, gray belt, black pants, uh, and then this jersey, but I have every color of belt in my bag, every color of sock in my bag, just in case.
As you should. Okay. Now growing up, who was your team?
Ooh, the Cubs. It's Cubs girl.
And then who are you attending to tonight?
You know, honestly, Jenny Finch. She's been here every single year that I've been here and I just, I love her. She's so sweet.
Now listen, if you want to win, you want her on your team. She is the queen of softball. She's the captain.
I know. Yeah.
Okay, win big tonight.
Thank you so much.
Okay, cool. Thank you. We got some teammates in the shot. It's it's atmosphere. It's like, yeah, Adam Devine follows me everywhere ever since the first movie. I can't get away from the guy. Well, I have to say I can't get away from you. It's great to see you again. Uh, welcome to Seattle. Uh, had to represent Dodgers. I understand. Here, um, but Mariners, we're in Seattle. It's All-Star weekend. It's on fire here. What's the energy like for you?
It's unbelievable. I love, uh, sports in general. I love baseball, but anytime you go to like an All-Star weekend, it's just like a, I love when an organization like the MLB can like take over an entire city. Yes. Like yesterday, I was, I was like scootering around Seattle, I guess. I go. I was scootering and just there's like arrows on the ground of like where to go to go to like the Expo and the fan stuff and I think I'm supposed to like be in those things, but I go as a fan because I just I just love this stuff.
Okay. So we're here for the celebrity softball game. It's not your first rodeo. So what's your strategy going into this game?
My first strategy, my actual strategy is to not get hurt. Um, to play hard though, like, I I love sports and I I just don't want to embarrass myself. And I don't think I really will. I mean, and if I do then I'll laugh it off. Honestly, I haven't mentioned. Okay. But I will embarrass myself if I get hurt because I can't laugh that off because it'll really hurt. So then it's then that could be bad.
Have you prepared for this?
In what way?
I don't know. Let's start with stretching.
I thought you meant if you prepared for like you getting injured. Um, no, yeah, I I went to the I just took some cuts. Apparently, I was I was I got some compliments from some professional athletes. I've been hitting them, you know, over the thing every time. Um, it's a very short fence behind us though, so it's not that impressive, but clearing the infield essentially every time, so that's good. Is hitting it hard. Yeah. Uh, no, I'm good. I'm I'm ready. I'm ready as I'll ever be at 35 and, you know, 20 years removed from from from playing.
Well, my next question, I I think you've answered it. I'm from New York. Mets fan. but Dodgers because LA, hi. But you're repping the Mets hat and that's what's so great about All-Star weekend. You can kind of get away with wearing any team and still feel the love because someone's going to shout, "Oh, Mets fan. Oh, yeah!" Get right.
I just bonded with Donovan Mitchell over that in fact. I mean that's a pretty big deal to me. I knew he was a Mets fan, but yeah, I'm I'm blue and orange all day no matter what. Even when they're not doing so great, but um, but yeah, it's going to make it all the more sweeter when they finally win that World Series in my lifetime.
So take me back to your fondest baseball memory as a kid growing up.
My fondest MLB moment, I'll actually do that is watching the Mets. They didn't go all the way, but it was it was I think 2015 when they went to the World Series. Um, I, my dad was visiting me on set. I was shooting in New Mexico at the time and it was just so nice to watch the playoffs with my dad every night. Uh, when I was working on set, he had the phone there and it was like a fun thing to go back to the village where you were watching and that was. They didn't get all the way there, but those moments are still very sweet to me.
Do you guys have a team name today?
I know. The winners. Done. The winners. Yeah. The winnernerds.
All-Star weekend. It is on fire. What emotion are we going through right now because batting practice looked pretty fierce out there?
Girl, adrenaline and, you know, I just hope I'm really as good as all the other players. It's going to be fun. It's going to be fun.
I mean, what are you think when you're hitting the ball out there? Because it's softball, it's not so much baseball.
They, I just say keep that eye on the ball. I don't know. I'm like, I hope nobody's looking when I miss it.
Okay. So bring me back to your fondest MLB memory.
Uh, damn. I don't know. I don't know. I mean, I was raised with baseball in Dominican Republic. So, uh, to me right now when they said that, you know, I mean, doing what I love as an artist and being here in in MLB, it's like a dream come true actually. So, and seeing all the other artists that have been here before, it's like, you know, I said one day I was like, I want to be there. So it's happening. That's amazing. So.
Well, good luck tonight.
Thank you. Cool. Thank you so much. Nice.
