Drive-through, Sniffy. Thank you. I'm here with Katherine Han and they make my boots. I'm all excited.
I like your socks, Jason. Are you wearing socks in those boots?
I'm not wearing socks. I should be though. It's too hot. There's a hidden wedge. I think there's a hidden wedge.
You need a sock to absorb moisture.
I do. There's a purpose behind these things. Are you okay with sounds? You're good with sounds. Here, we'll we'll we'll both work this. I'll take care of the top of him. And then I'll have I'll take the you prefer the top, Jason? I've read that you wanted to direct this film because you have a very dirty, dark sense of humor, and that was a, you know.
My dirty, dark sense of humor is not nearly as as as corrosive as uh Andrew Dodge, but I tried to elevate it and high brow it just a little bit.
Did you pull his script together better. How do you do that? How do you do that?
You cast people like Katherine Han and Alison Janney and, you know, a whole slew of very
We're here. We're here at a bird sanctuary. Yes, we are. Now, did you plan this whole Obama thing? Because films is bad words and he spelled respect wrong recently, and you tweeted that. Did you? That was pretty cool. Did you plant that?
Well,
Excuse me, guys. Is that you? Yeah, I apologize. You You want to go take a quick?
I'm just a lot of egg. What is it? Barbecue.
Why don't you go empty yourself and come back? So yeah, so he he dropped the E out of uh the first E out of respect. On camera. And I and I went ahead and grabbed it and you did. You tweeted it. You went you went wild with it. Tried to funle it up into our theme here. At this point, and you know, and you know. If those cue a heavy baseline, we're going to see a little baby bird get born. Why, at the age of 40, have you decided to annoy educators, parents, and children by forcing your way into a kid's spelling bee?
Just trying to sleep. I I get at least one answer per tournament. I have three very paltry answers. It's time for my fourth. Oh. It was awesome to be able to contribute to other parts of the process instead of just
Standing and talking, yeah.
In all these years, I've never seen pre-production or post. Really? Yeah, it was pretty cool.
What happens? Tell us.
Uh, basically you make 90% of the movie in pre-production, which was right. Great.
Not just about the actors, right?
No. We just we sit in our trailer for about 45 minutes to an hour, and then we come out and talk. Okay. The things you see when you don't have a gun.
Working with Jason as a director. Yeah. A couple of the other actors in the film have said that you because you're an actor and you get it. It's that actor's director thing. He gets it. And it's
Right. It makes it easier as an actor. Some people call it magic. I don't I mean, that's not my words.
Yeah, you don't need magic. No. I would yes. I would say that those people are lying to you. Just for the for the
Okay. Right here. Um, yeah, he was awesome. It was fun It was such a ball. We did have a We did have fun. It was a very easy
Yeah. Relaxed set, right? Never wanted to Oh, look. Someone This guy really wants to get his his screw on. He's done with the big one up there. He wants some Catherine Han tail. I wanted to
Who doesn't, guys?
Humiliate, honestly. Hold your fork. We She will pull your pork in Austin.
You have like a don't look at me sex scene in the movie.
Yeah. She takes her glasses. I think that she if they actually make eye contact, it would just force her immediately into the reality of the situation and she would spiral into self-hatred. Or it it's spiral into reset. So, one has to start over again. If you know what I mean. Right.
And Jason's agree. You said this was the greatest experience of your life. Directing the movie. Not not humping her.
No. No. No. You never said that was very tender. I don't know how you like spend your weekends, but I don't like to hump my friends. No. Unless you drink, I do it. Which I don't do anymore.
How does your wife feel about that comment?
Let me finish. Um, with the exception of marrying my beloved wife and the birth of my two young daughters, there you go. You know, you got to stop cutting me off. Uh, directing bad words was tiptop.
There you go. In the in the work realm, it was the best experience of your life. Well, on that note, we actually have a game. A little mini game. Rapid fire. Ready? Ready? Favorite word.
Horny bird.
My favorite word is crapshoot. That's a good one. I don't think it's my favorite word, but it just came out.
Favorite bad word.
Douchebag.
Love it.
Kicker.
Love it even more.
Face. Where do you use the most?
Um. Way too much. Right? I've heard that too. I hate it. Sprinkling in a lot of ums. Uh The the one word, yeah, right. The one word I tried to avoid uh as as much as possible is is sort of the one word kind of uh appreciate it. You know, they I hate when people say that, appreciate it. Or or peace. It's a great piece. Or we we did it in a great space. You know, the the play was done in a great space.
And last but not least, most overused word in Los Angeles.
Um, I love I'm going to reach out. Or touch base. Or touch base. We'll touch base. I'm going to reach out next week. And touch your base. Appreciate it. Peace.
