We all wanted to play music. We came out to Los Angeles and though we were studying film the first day of school, I started trying to put together a band. Everyone said that Aaron Sharp, he was the best guitarist on campus, so sought him out. Dack was a sushi chef nearby the school. He overheard we were looking for somebody. Greg went to a school nearby. He approached us and said that he was better than the drummer in our band and he was. Uh yeah, it's kind of how the band formed. You just my type. Oh, you got palsy. You are breathing. Yeah, you're just my type. Saint Motel was the result of many, many, many names.

We were looking for something that the name wouldn't define the music, the music would define the name. So we were nameless for a while and then imagine um one of those things where you switch pieces of the face, you know, like we had all these words kind of going back and forth and we kind of ended up with Saint Motel and once they were kind of paired, it would just it was actually kind of a easy yes from everybody in the band. It was like, it wasn't like someone was like, ah, you know, I prefer this one. It was like, yeah, that's it. Oh. Take a look around the room. Ah. Love comes wearing disguises. How to go about and choose. Break it down by shapes and sizes.

I'm a man who's got We have a lot of fun on stage and we like to dance and move around and if people are doing that in the audience then we feed off that energy and it becomes sort of like feedback loop where we're feeding off the audience and the audience is feeding off of us and that's usually the best way to do it. You're just my type. Whoa, you got a pulse and you are breathing. Hey, you're just my type. I come from a family that wasn't particularly musical. I started singing just because we couldn't find a singer. It was my high school band. I was playing bass at the time.

We were like auditioning, you know, people and like, ah, he needs to be a crazy frontman and like, he's got to like jump around and back flips. And we couldn't really find anyone. It was like, guys, uh, I could I could try singing. And um, David Lee Roth wasn't available. David Lee Roth wasn't available. Exactly. The visuals we wanted something to tie in with the music and make our shows more of an experience rather than just a audio experience. So luckily, AJ is a really talented music video director and we met in film school and I was film studies, so I'm good at watching movies, not necessarily producing music videos and whatnot.

So we have similar taste and we can figure out what's cool and what's not cool. That's that's our job. That's our job. Oh, my love. I know I am a cold cold man. Quite slow to pay you compliments or public display of affections but baby don't you go over analyze. No need to theorize. I can put your doubts to rest. You're the only one we're seeing. The only place we'll be in. The only better to sleep in. Try to figure out what it is about your voice that is unique. Now that almost sounds like inspirational quote, but it's true. Like you when you listen to music and every so often hear a voice that kind of stands out. You're like, oh that's unique, that's different.

It's like someone that knows their singing style and it's not trying to imitate something. They know what it is that's unique about them. They let it come out. That's some of the best vocals, I think you can hope for. And sometimes sounds really weird and um, maybe you shouldn't be singing. I'm just kidding. That weird's good. Oh, whoa, you're just my type.
